The Bedford Birth & Wellbeing Co is a private postnatal support service offering structured guidance, education, emotional containment, and practical fourth trimester support within the home. Our work is informed by professional midwifery experience and grounded in evidence-based postnatal understanding, but is not intended to replace individual medical care, diagnosis, treatment, or direct clinical assessment. Any information shared through consultations, written materials, social media, or postnatal sessions is educational and supportive in nature. Families should always seek direct review from their own GP, midwife, health visitor, maternity unit, or emergency services where clinical concerns arise. We do not provide emergency care, prescribing, formal diagnosis, or acute clinical management. Our role is to complement standard postnatal services through calm, considered support.

Cultural safety goes beyond inclusion statements. It requires ongoing reflection, education, and awareness of how bias, including unconscious bias, can influence maternity care experiences.

Within my postnatal collections, this means listening without dismissal, avoiding assumptions, respecting family structures and cultural practices, and recognising that lived experience is the authority in conversations about inequity.

I recognise that disparities in maternity outcomes exist in the UK, particularly for Black and ethnic minority women. While private support does not resolve systemic inequity, I remain committed to practising in a way that is informed, accountable, and actively anti racist.

This is not a static statement. It is ongoing work.
