The Mysterious Bookcase started in October 2022. Our signature product, Blind Date With a Book, was created out of Ally's love for reading and her obsession with secondhand books, as well as Matt's interest in the mystery aspect around this bookish gift. We wanted to create a cozy gift for all book lovers, and thought the addition of tea, a luxury chocolate and a customisable bookmark made the package complete!In October 2025, we opened the doors to our first brick-and-mortar bookshop. We are based in Bournemouth, England.

We’re excited to share that The Mysterious Bookcase has recently opened a brick-and-mortar bookshop in Bournemouth this autumn. Our goal is to curate a thoughtfully selected range of independent authors, with a focus on adult and young adult (YA) fiction. Please note that at this time, we are not accepting children’s books or non-fiction titles. We kindly ask you to complete the form below so we can learn a little more about you and your book(s).
