I’m a passionate bioinformatician / computational biologist specialising in bioinformatics and applied research. With a strong academic background and hands-on experience, I develop and analyse complex biological and medical diagnostic data using a wide range of bioinformatics tools. I bring strong communication and problem-solving skills to multidisciplinary research, bridging computational analysis with real-world biological questions, particularly in host-microbiome interactions, infection dynamics, and gene transfer mechanisms. I am a member of the British Society for Parasitology (BSP) and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK (AFHEA).

Biography 個人簡介

My research interests focus on Schistosomiasis, Bovine Tuberculosis (bTB, humans or other animals), and the role of transposon and Horizontal Gene Transfer (HGT) in the gut microbiome. I aim to elucidate how infections, particularly Schistosoma mansoni and Mycobacterium bovis, influence gut microbial communities, with a special focus on:
•Alterations in gut microbial communities associated with infection and their impact on microbial diversity and function.
•HGT-driven genomic changes, particularly the transfer of insertion sequence (IS) elements.
•The spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes within the gut microbiome.
•The interplay between microbial ecology, host-microbiome interactions, and gene transfer mechanisms in infection dynamics.
