Tidewater Bride

They’re both too busy for love . . . but love is not too busy for them

Selah Hopewell seems to be the only woman in Virginia Colony who has no wish to wed. True, there are too many men and far too few women in James Towne. But Selah already has her hands full assisting her father in the family’s shop. And now she is in charge of an incoming ship of tobacco brides who must be looked after as they sort through their many suitors.

Xander Renick is perhaps the most eligible tobacco lord in the settlement. His lands are vast, his crops are prized, and his position as a mediator between the colonists and the powerful Powhatan nation surrounding them makes him indispensable. But Xander is already wedded to his business and still grieves the loss of his wife.

Can two fiercely independent people find happiness and fulfillment on their own? Or will they discover that what they’ve been missing in life has been right in front of them all along?

This is perhaps one of the loveliest historical I have read , inspired John Rolfe… the Englishman that loves an Indian Princess . This was so beautifully and poetically written, and the love story lingered on my heart, long after I left it’s pages . Xander and Selah are obviously meant for each other , and they barely manage to keep their smoldering chemistry under control during many sweet moments . They were very responsible to guard their hearts though until they knew they wanted to commit to each other for life . This story was a case of heart wants what it wants , though they both fought it for a decent potion of the book. Amidst the peril of tensions between the English and Indians , this lush love story is sure to capture the hearts of readers .

A Cowboy For Keeps

Greta Nilsson’s trip west to save her ailing little sister, Astrid, could not have gone more wrong. First, bandits hold up her stagecoach, stealing all her money. Then, upon arriving in Fairplay, Colorado, she learns the man she was betrothed to as a mail-order bride has died. Homeless, penniless, and jobless, Greta and her sister are worse off than when they started.

Wyatt McQuaid is struggling to get his new ranch up and running and is in town to purchase cattle when the mayor proposes the most unlikely of bargains. He’ll invest in a herd of cattle for Wyatt’s ranch if Wyatt agrees to help the town become more respectable by marrying and starting a family. And the mayor, who has promised to try to help Greta, has just the candidate in mind for Wyatt to marry.

Wyatt and Greta’s story is lovely and their journey is captivating and tender . This is perhaps one of the best bride of convenience stories I have read in quite some time . I love how the relationship and connection between is sparked from the beginning but remains a struggle for a good bit of the book and I love how they are both willing to be honest and want the best for each other through the course of the story . I love the determination to honor each other and the plot twist had my heart reeling and rooting for a happy ending ! Readers who love bride of convenience stories will adore this tender, passionate, love story .

Love, Again

Both are wounded by love. But somehow, love finds them in the small things. Will they learn that there is more to life than living in past failures, that it really is possible to find love again?

Jake Barrett is devastated when he loses his wife and toddler son in a terrible, fiery accident. What made it even more painful is that an unidentified man was found in the car with them. The police suggest that his wife was having an affair. Since that horrible day two years ago, Jake has questioned everything about himself and his marriage and found no answers. He returns home to his family’s Texas ranch to try to find healing there and learn to trust again.

Twice, Honor McKee was engaged to be married, and twice, she was stood up just days before the wedding. Adding to her embarrassment is the fact that she is a marriage counselor, someone who gives advice to others about love and relationships. Ashamed and deeply hurt, she loses faith in herself and her ability to choose a man willing to commit.

Although they are both wounded and disappointed in love, Jake and Honor meet and manage to stumble their way toward friendship and, quite possibly, more. But their lives are turned upside down when trust in each other is needed the most, and neither has it to give.

Will they learn that there is more to life than living in past failures, that it really is possible to find love again?

Jake and Honor’s story is a beautiful, must read story of redemption, healing and beauty from pain . Jake and Honor have an instant connection and both can relate to each other because of the trust issues they have due to rumored affairs and broken engagements. The characters both gave big hearts and have some serious emotions to sort out during the course of their unfolding relationship. Their chemistry is real and the story is heartfelt. Readers will find themselves rooting for the characters and will find the story lingers with them long after they leave it’s pages .

More from Tamara

When I thought of writing “Love, Again”, I wanted to find out what would happen between two very-hurt people who stumbled into the beginnings of a friendship but didn’t have the trust it took for the relationship to go any further. What would help them see their flaws? What did they need to learn to become more than the past had let them be?

I loved getting to know Jake and Honor. Without giving anything away, I walked with them through their discoveries about themselves and each other. I hope you enjoy their journey!
