Ummm…errrr…

Snerk…

The University of Southern California cancelled a planned California primary gubernatorial debate because all of the candidates invited were white, multiple media outlets reported.

USC and KABC-TV invited Republicans Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton as well as Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell, former Democratic Rep. Katie Porter, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan and left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer to the debate based on a formula that combined poll standings and campaign funds, the New York Times reported. The decision drew complaints from excluded Democratic candidates, including former Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former California State Controller Betty Yee, according to NBC Los Angeles.

This…sigh… I literally have no words, but then it IS California…

They passed this ‘thing’ called the Top Two Candidates Open Primary Act, which means only the top two vote-getters in the primary election – regardless of party preference – move on to the general election.

This was done to ensure that Dems got the two top slots, based on their base voting for them. However, this time the top two are BOTH Republicans, Steve Hilton (former Brit, and director of strategy for prime minister David Cameron from 2010 to 2012, he became a US citizen in 2021) and Chad Bianco (sheriff of Riverside County). So it is very possible that the November election ‘may’ be for which Republican will be the next governor!

Not that I’d want anything to do with that CF…

But I do think it is ‘funny’ that California is so wrapped up in the whole DEI BS that ‘whiteness’ was a reason to cancel a debate…

TBT…

Yes, I’m old… sigh…

And I really DO need to clean out some cabinets…

You youngsters may not recognize this…

That is a real floppy disk…

And the up close version you can see it’s a start up disk for DOS ver 3.30 from 1987…

And I actually do have the book somewhere around here too…

And DOS commands STILL work on Windoze, regardless of what MS says…

Don’t believe me???

Here’s the command prompt where I typed defrag (a DOS 3.3 command) into Windoze ver 7 and guess what…

defrag cmd line

YMMV, I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night (Yea!), IANALL, nor I do I play one on TV…

And yes, I no longer run ANY MS IOS on anything, I’ve gone to the dark side…LOL

About time!!!

Looks like the ‘chickens’ are finally coming home to roost for some of those protesters!

Good news, everyone: Justice is back on the menu in the USA!

Yet another of the countless dividends of Making America Great Again is the potential restoration of faith in the justice system. This can only be possible when bad guys go to jail. And while absolute monsters are turned back out on the street in blue states until they finally commit a heinous enough murder to make national news, this is no longer happening on the federal level.

In real life, it turns out that you can’t stalk officials, dox their innocent families, or try to run them over with your car without getting into hot water.

Full article, HERE from PJ Media.

The sad part is the price the families pay for their husband/wife’s jobs. It’s bad enough when the agent’s life is put in danger daily, but when the kids are impacted, or the family has to move for their safety, that is, to me, well beyond acceptable.

Yet if those same doxxers get doxed? Oh the screams about invasion of privacy, yada, yada…

Tough. FAFO is a real thing in the reality ‘we’ live in, not the utopia the left thinks they live in.

And common sense is also coming back, along with justice. Now we just need that to propagate to Chiraq, NYC, Boston, and most of Virginia…

The young lady, Sheridan Gorman was murdered in Chicago by a illegal immigrant, NOT as the Chiraq alderwoman said that she ‘scared’ him into an ‘accidental’ shooting… Gah… HERE

And Pritzker and Johnson can’t even say they’re sorry, because they don’t care. Funny how the ‘problems’ with ICE only appear in blue states and primarily blue cities.

Interestingly, the whole ICE thing in Minnesota has completely knocked the Somali fraud out of the news cycle, surprising no one on the right… sigh

Yes, the dems managed to get rid of Noem as DHS, but now they’ve got Mullin, who is going to be even less of a pushover, and will not put up with any lip from the left, as we’ve already seen.

I think things are going to get ‘interesting’ in the next few months, as our focus shifts back to the USA and off the Iran mess… Other than rechecking a LOT of so called asylum applications from the Middle East.

This one…

Has been ‘interesting’, to put it mildly…

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is investigating whether two development companies behind a master-planned North Texas community formerly known as East Plano Islamic Center City discriminated against people’s religion or national origin.

The investigation comes after several state officials accused entities behind the development that marketed to Muslims and is now called The Meadow of religious discrimination. It also comes after the U.S. Justice Department quietly closed its own probe into the housing project, saying the developers agreed to follow federal fair housing laws.

Full article, HERE from the Texas Tribune and HERE from the Daily Caller.

It appears there is a ‘lot’ more to this than is covered in the news. It appears a company out of the Middle East was actually the true backer, and there were a number of stories told to the Collins County leadership in ‘private’ meetings that were…shall we say, less than truthful.

It also appears there was a two tier ‘system’ of buying in, with preferences given to muslims and apparently ‘members’ of the East Plano Islamic Center.

This mess is what led to Gov. Abbott signing a law in Texas that Sharia compounds and  laws is not allowed in Texas, HERE. Of course ‘that’ has upset the LWL and usual suspects…

I ‘think’ this was one more attempt to ‘get the nose under the tent’, so to speak. I, for one, am glad to see it fail. Assimilation is supposed to be the goal when people come here…

Supposedly…

A little humor…

To start your week…

Psychiatrist vs. Bartender

Ever since I was a child, I’ve always had a fear of someone under my bed at night. So, I went to a shrink and told him: “I’ve got problems. Every time I go to bed I think there’s somebody under it. I’m scared. I think I’m going crazy.”;

“Just put yourself in my hands for one year, said the shrink. Come talk to me three times a week, and we should be able to get rid of those fears.”;

“How much do you charge?”;

“Eighty dollars per visit,” replied the doctor.

“I’ll sleep on it,” I said.

Six months later the doctor met me on the street. “Why didn’t you come to see me about those fears you were having?” He asked.

“Well, Eighty bucks a visit, three times a week for a year, is $12,480.00. A bartender cured me for $10.00. I was so happy to have saved all that money that I went and bought me a new pickup truck.”;

“Is that so?” With a bit of an attitude he said, “and how, may I ask, did a bartender cure you?”;

“He told me to cut the legs off the bed. Ain’t nobody under there now.”;

It’s always better to get a second opinion.

Goes for doctors too…just sayin…

They just won’t go away…

Warthogs are back in action!!!

Three months after Congress put the brakes on Air Force plans to retire its fleet of 162 A-10s this year, the versatile Warthog is back in the fight, this time in a maritime mission chasing Iranian naval vessels.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff briefly mentioned the A-10C Thunderbolt II at a Pentagon briefing Thursday about the nearly three-week-old war in Iran, calling the attack aircraft by its familiar nickname. “The A-10 Warthog is now in the fight across the southern flank and is hunting and killing fast attack watercraft in the Strait of Hormuz,” Air Force Gen. Dan Caine said.

Full article, HERE from Stars and Stripes.

‘Officially’ introduced in 1977 as a replacement for the AD-1 Spad, they’ve been around for 49 years, performing multiple missions across just about every theater in the world…

Originally designed as a tank killer, and hated by the Air Force, who had tried to ‘kill’ them for the last 20 years, because they are subsonic, ugly, and ground support aircraft, they are loved by the Army and Marines who’ve been bailed out by them time after time.

Then Captain Paul Johnson had ‘one’ of those days, recounted HERE as a Warthog pilot… And Major Kim Campbell, HERE had ‘one’ of those days…

The titanium tub saved more than one pilot, and the A-10 developed a reputation for bring their pilots home most of the time (I think six have actually been lost in combat). And the GAU-8A 30mm cannon the airplane is built around is accurate enough to place 80 percent of its shots within a 40-foot diameter circle from 4,000 feet while in flight. It is optimized for a slant range of 4,000 feet with the A-10 in a 30-degree dive.

That they are being used to take out the fast mover boats and drones is also a tribute to the pilots and their adaptability to new missions. And frankly, they are probably the ‘best’ asset to be doing this mission…

Say a prayer for all those in harm’s way and be glad the Warthogs are still in the fight!!!

Good people…

ARE out there!

The news can be awfully heavy these days. I know I like to take breaks, and I assume you do, too. If you don’t, I highly encourage it (after you’ve read PJ Media, of course). With that in mind, I’ve decided to try something a little new. On Fridays, I’m going to share with you a “feel-good” story from the week that touched my heart and helped me remember that there are still good people out there in the world, and I hope you enjoy these stories, too.

If you’ve ever ordered food or grocery delivery from a company like DoorDash, you understand that you never know who will deliver your stuff. It could be a young college student trying to make some extra cash, a single mom who needed something to do that would allow her to bring her baby along, or just someone who enjoys the hustle of making his own hours and sort of being his own boss. To be honest, though, I think most of us rarely know who exactly is dropping our food off because we opt to have them leave it at the door. I know I do.

Brittany Smith of Tennessee used DoorDash last week to place an order from Starbucks. From her Ring doorbell camera, she saw that her delivery driver was an elderly man. He moved slowly and struggled a bit on the stairs to get up to her porch. That left her wondering why a man his age was out delivering food when he should be enjoying retirement. She wanted to leave him a bigger tip than she had, but the DoorDash app wouldn’t allow her to do so, so she took to social media.

Full article, HERE from PJ Media.

I’m thankful there are folks out there like Mrs. Smith who are willing to actually DO something!

There are good folks out there, we just usually do not hear about them. As a friend (television director) said many years ago, “Give me blood and guts or a sob story, and I’ll get you 15 minutes nationally for a couple of days. Give me a feel good, and I ‘might’ get 15 seconds once.”

All you have to do is look at any news broadcast and you’ll see the truth of that. Dammit…

And we DO need good people to help our friends out. Kat (Ainsworth) Stevens has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is facing a double mastectomy. The problem is she is a gun writer and freelancer so no insurance. If you’ve read any gun mags in the last few years, you’ve probably read her stuff, yes, she IS that good!

She is also a hunter/firearms tester and has been featured in a number of articles and advertisements, but now all that is off the table.

Rachel Fry has put together a Give Send Go for Kat, and that is here- https://www.givesendgo.com/Katsrackdefensefund

Anything helps, as she is looking at considerable expenses! Thank you in advance…

Grumble…

Intarwebz is down. Typing this on my iPhone. Go read the folks on the sidebar, they rite gud!

TBT…

You just want ‘comfort’ food…

Just a burger and fries, home made, nothing fancy… Comfort…

Everybody has different ideas of what is ‘comfort’ food for themselves, and that is fine as we all grew up in different places eating different things.

But I do find there are only ‘certain’ places I will spend the $$ to get a burger and fries, and those are usually the greasy spoons. Why, you ask?

Because they remind me of the places I grew up where we didn’t have McDonalds, or the other fast food places. A&W was about it, back when they were a drive in, and Dairy Queen (where you ONLY got the ice cream). Otherwise, it was a mom and pop restaurant, or a greasy spoon… Yes, we were cheep! Hell, we didn’t have much money as kids, or even in the early years in the Navy.

I can afford better today, even the occasional steak dinner, but I still like and default to a plain old burger and fries…

What was/is your favorite comfort food? Mexican, Italian, British, Fish/shrimp???

Why???

I really don’t understand this one at all…

A federal judge has ordered federal immigration authorities to release an illegal immigrant gang member with multiple unlawful entries into the United States and whose criminal history includes rape and robbery, Fox News Digital has learned.

Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson, an Obama appointee, ordered the release of Carlos Antonio Flores-Miguel, an MS-13 gang member from El Salvador, from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.

“This activist, Obama-appointed judge RELEASED Carlos Antonio Flores-Miguel, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador and MS-13 gang member, from ICE Custody,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “Releasing violent criminals is inexcusably reckless and now this criminal will be able to perpetrate more crimes against innocent Americans.”

Full article, HERE from Fox News.

Why would any actual judge release somebody like this into the general public? Or is this a purely political move on her part to ‘punish’ ICE and the administration?

Also, who died and made her the Queen of America???

I’m at the point that I’d be in favor of penalties for ANY judge/DA/chief/sheriff that releases somebody like this and they reoffend. As far as I’m concerned, they should suffer the same penalties the offender gets! Same prison, one cell over would be fine with me…

Grrr…
