“Back To Neverland” memorial day

I took part in a panel at the Disney studio last week to discuss the making of this film that influenced so many people. Directed by Jerry Rees, “Back To Neverland” explains the process of Disney animation. Hosted by Disney animator Michale Woodside, and organized by vice president of Disney Studio Communications Howard Green, it was a wonderful day reminiscing about a real teamwork project.

Among other things, I animated the transformation scenes that inspired Disney to hire Robin Williams to voice the genie in “Alladin.”

The making of “Back To Neverland.”

“Back To Neverland” is a 9-minute film that explains the process of Disney animation. Directed by Jerry Rees, the film, which mixed live-action and animation. and also featured Walter Cronkite, played for many years in Disney World, Florida as part of the MGM Disney studio tour.

The animators got to meet Robin Williams when he visited the studio. He was great fun, and very gracious. (I’m the tall guy.)

Robin becomes an animated character in the film. This is a card the animators signed for Jerry.
