There was an Expectation

The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them. A Promise is a Promise

Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: (‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭25-28‬ NIV)

Are You Certain?

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭12-14‬ NKJV)

Evaluate and be sure.

It Is Only Going To Get Worse?

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. (‭Revelation‬ ‭11‬:‭7-13‬ NKJV)

The two witnesses.

There Is Hope

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” (‭Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭1-5‬ NKJV)

I’m not sure much has changed.

Are You Listening?

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. ” ’

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ (‭Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭11, 17, 29‬ NKJV)

Passion Described

My soul faints for Your salvation, But I hope in Your word.

Unless Your law had been my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction.

How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

My eyes fail from seeking Your salvation And Your righteous word.

Therefore I love Your commandments More than gold, yes, than fine gold!

I opened my mouth and panted, For I longed for Your commandments.

I rejoice at Your word As one who finds great treasure. (‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭81, 92, 103, 114, 123, 127, 131, 162‬ NKJV)

Jesus Practiced What He Preached

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.

But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭15, 31‬ NKJV)

When asked?

And they asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?” His parents answered them and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; but by what means he now sees we do not know, or who opened his eyes we do not know. He is of age; ask him. He will speak for himself.” His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue. Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.” (‭John‬ ‭9‬:‭19-23‬ NKJV)

We are not far from being in the same place as these parents.
