Everyday Prayer

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. (‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭5-6‬ NLT)

This is my prayer today:

1. I want to live wisely

2. I want to make the most of every opportunity

3. I want my words and conversation with others to be gracious and attractive

4. I want to have the right responses today, not reactions

Help me love You, and love your people today.

What Do They See?

In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers. Now I know that the LORD rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from his holy heaven and rescue him by his great power. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm. Give victory to our king, O LORD! Answer our cry for help. (‭Psalms‬ ‭20‬:‭1-9‬ NLT)

This particular is written about David, and not by David.

My thoughts this morning are simple.

Are we living our lives in such a way that those around us see the hand of the Lord?  Clearly the writer here could see how the Lord was the deliverer of David.

As you go about your business and busyness of the day today, look for the presence and touch of the Lord, and then point it out by giving Him glory. I am not asking you to jump on a table and start preaching.  Rather, a simple thank you Lord for the sunshine today.  Thank you Lord for my wonderful vehicle that took me to my wonderful job.  Thank you for my wonderful spouse and children.  Most of the world doesn’t see the simple things as a blessing from the Lord.  If they did it would make the big things easier to see.

Some trust in chariots and horses, but we boast int he name of the Lord our God!

You Can’t Give Up!

At Iconium Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue. There they spoke so effectively that a great number of Jews and Greeks believed. But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.

There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews, together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them. But they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, where they continued to preach the gospel.

Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe. They preached the gospel in that city and won a large number of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium and Antioch, (‭Acts‬ ‭14‬:‭1-2, 5-7, 19-21‬ NIV)

Are you still preaching truth, or has something hindered you?

It Is Worth One More Try!

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. (‭Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭4-7‬ NIV)

Jesus Practiced What He Preached

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.

But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go from here. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭15, 31‬ NKJV)

Jesus practiced what He preached.

John the Baptist and Me

He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the LORD,” ’ as the prophet Isaiah said.” (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭23‬ NKJV)

This is written about John the Baptist. Nothing has changed!

Most Important Decision of Their Life

Now when much time had been spent, and sailing was now dangerous because the Fast was already over, Paul advised them, saying, “Men, I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives.” Nevertheless the centurion was more persuaded by the helmsman and the owner of the ship than by the things spoken by Paul. (‭Acts‬ ‭27‬:‭9-11‬ NKJV)

How are you making your decisions?

To Whom Much Is Given Much Is Required

Then His disciples asked Him, saying, “What does this parable mean?” 10 And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.’ (Luke 8:9-10 NKJV)
We are no different then the disciples.

Zombie Killers

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, theLord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’” (Ezekiel 37:11-14 NKJV)

This would be the ultimate preverbal zombie killers.
