In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers. Now I know that the LORD rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from his holy heaven and rescue him by his great power. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the LORD our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm. Give victory to our king, O LORD! Answer our cry for help. (Psalms 20:1-9 NLT)
This particular is written about David, and not by David.
My thoughts this morning are simple.
Are we living our lives in such a way that those around us see the hand of the Lord? Clearly the writer here could see how the Lord was the deliverer of David.
As you go about your business and busyness of the day today, look for the presence and touch of the Lord, and then point it out by giving Him glory. I am not asking you to jump on a table and start preaching. Rather, a simple thank you Lord for the sunshine today. Thank you Lord for my wonderful vehicle that took me to my wonderful job. Thank you for my wonderful spouse and children. Most of the world doesn’t see the simple things as a blessing from the Lord. If they did it would make the big things easier to see.
Some trust in chariots and horses, but we boast int he name of the Lord our God!
