As I was driving back from OC the other day, I snapped this pic. I always loved these old, rusted grain silos.

Poem for the Rooftops of Iran – June 19th, 2009
Have you seen this yet? It’s a moving poem read from a rooftop in Iran as screams of, “Allah-o Akbar” (“God is Great”) can be heard from the streets and homes below. This won’t leave me for a long time.
Digital Watercolor: A 1 A
Last night after the sun had set, the sky took on an electric blue hue. I was driving on the ramp to 29, and it was beautiful, so I stuck my phone out of the window and snapped this pic. When I looked at it, it reminded me of a road I’ve never been on: the A 1 A in Florida.

I.M.P. vs Live Nation
The operator of Merriweather Post Pavilion is continuing to pursue a federal anti-trust claim against the world’s largest concert producer, claiming the producer is keeping major acts from performing in Columbia.
Competition, in anything is always good, so I hope Seth Hurwitz wins this one. Plus, we’ll get better acts at Merriweather. What do you think?
A Photo Essay: Digital Watercolor
For the past year, whenever I would see something that looked interesting, I’d take a photo of it with the built in camera that came with my blackberry. Now, I know the quality is horrible, and there are other phones that have better cameras. But as I looked back on these photos, it became clear to me that these pixalated, grainy images were actually quite beautiful. They reminded me of watercolor paintings, so I decided to call this series “Digital Watercolor”. The first photo is called, “Baltimore @ Night” and it was taken from the top of the newly renovated Silo Point.

The Low Anthem @ The Bowery Ballroom Tonight
Check out this cool video of The Low Anthem playing on a rusty old ship. They are playing the famous Bowery Ballroom tonight in NYC, after playing at the Bonnaroo festival this past weekend. They are also featured on today’s NY Times podcast of new music. They’re on about half way through the podcast.
They’ll be in Baltimore at the Ottobar in August, so get yourself familiar with them now because you are all invited to the show!

From Boston, MA…Loren Francis
Loren Francis is an amazing musician from Boston. I first came across his band, The Brakemen in early 2007 after hearing them on the radio. Loren is out on his own now, and after some rough times, he seems to be doing well. His music is deep, haunting, and strangely optimistic. Here they are playing their song, “Flaming Cross”.
