Opening her eyes …
drawing back the curtains to her soul
leaving slumber behind to join the untried day
at the ticket counter found at the edge of her pillow
admission earned to watch a brand-new fascinating show

She sees …
warm yellow rays dart in from the window
creating a map leading her to a meeting of the trees
or perhaps … it was the trees themselves that beckon for
her to come as squalls of birds sing and flutter about their arms
β
Standing then walking …
intuitively following the map outdoors
butterflies swinging on flowers like winged spirits
intoxicated by the absorption of the petal’s floral nectar
bees buzzing around her ears creating a song not to be feared
β
Looking up and about …
a shade of blue for which there is no name
lighting the sky softly cradling clouds of cotton
like hands that wave and greet her at her destination
as passersby say good morning and share a welcoming smile
β
Delighted …
there are no complexities or rules
heartache or hunger – yesterday the past
leaving only this present moment in which to embrace
a beautiful blissful musing of a new horizon filled with promise

A meeting with the trees would be a wonderful way to start the day, and since blue is my favorite color, meeting a blue that there is no name for would be exciting! A delightful poem!
