Lord, give me today,
my daily bread
nourish my soul
from verses I’ve read.
Nurture and feed me,
right from Your Word
strengthen my heart
from sermons I heard.
Lord, give me today,
manna like dew . . .
so that I may get
much closer to You.
Sustain and fortify me,
through the Good Book
may it always be
my divine guidebook.
Lord, give me today,
all that I need . . .
as on Your Word
each day I feed!

If Jesus is the door,
to eternal salvation
we can rest assured
He is our redemption.
For in Him we find,
a perfect resting place
as we accept by faith
His undying grace.
If Jesus is the door,
to pastures green
we rest in knowing
on Him we can lean.
For He is our Shepherd,
and will provide for us
all our daily needs . . .
if we put in Him our trust.
If Jesus is the door,
when will you enter in . . .
for He came to save you
from the effects of sin!

Sometimes I sit,
silently all alone . . .
blessing my Father
up upon His throne.
For deep in my soul,
I feel so inspired
to tell Him how much
His goodness I require.
Sometimes I stand,
with my hands raised
joyfully I sing . . .
out to God my praise.
For there is so much,
I am thankful for
now that in heaven
my treasure I store.
Sometimes I lie,
quietly upon my bed
blessing my Lord . . .
for more than my bread!

Lord, give me today,
Your daily bread . . .
let it be on Your Word
that I’m satisfied and fed.
Let me not go hungry,
for the Truth and the Way
fill me with Your wisdom
as I go about my day.
Send to me Your manna,
sweetened with grace
grant unto me strength
to run the faithful race.
Keep me on the path,
of righteous living
help me to be like You
so I too can be loving.
Give me life-giving water,
so I’ll not ever thirst . . .
remind me to always . . .
put You in my life first!

Into the wilderness,
we sometimes have to go
when we start thinking . . .
God’s blessings no longer flow.
We find we are still hungry,
our thirst can’t be satisfied
so we wander off in the world
seeking what it will provide.
We complain and we moan,
about our wanting state . . .
as His provisions don’t come
for us at a quick enough rate.
We cannot see the future,
for today looks too bleak
and so for our daily bread
from God we no longer seek.
Then one day the Lord sends,
His manna from above
to reminded us once again
of His merciful love.
Into the wilderness,
we all sometimes have to go
but, God only keeps us there . . .
so our faith in Him will grow!

I’ve tasted the goodness,
from God’s banquet table
I’ve feasted on His Word
and now it’s a daily staple.
I’ve supped on the truth,
with my Lord and Savior
and now His Way of Life
I’ve come to truly savor.
I’ve been to the buffet,
of God’s benevolence
and now I understand
the meaning of excellence.
I’ve had my hunger satisfied,
by my faith supplier
and now I know just who is
my daily bread Provider.
I’m blessed beyond measure,
for I’m full of God’s fullness
now that I have feasted . . .
upon all of His goodness!

Today I am thankful,
for my daily bread
for the Holy Spirit
by whom I am lead.
For the abundance,
of faith and grace
for Jesus’ strength
to stay in the race.
Today I am grateful,
to my Father above
for His tender mercy
His wondrous love.
For His Goodness,
all He provides
for the power
He daily supplies.
Lord, today I’m thankful,
oh, so grateful too . . .
for all You bless me with

On Thanksgiving day this year,
before the turkey starts roasting
my thanks, I will be singing
for the dinner I’ll be hosting.
I will set the dining table,
with the gratitude I feel
before anyone comes
to feast upon the meal.
I will spread the hope,
that I’m feeling inside
before I even serve . . .
the food that God supplied.
I will polish up on all,
the reasons I’m thankful
before I even dish up
one blessed, single plateful.
On Thanksgiving day this year,
before the food I present
I will let everyone know . . .
just why I am so content!

When the Word of God,
is your daily bread
your spiritual hunger
will be nourished and fed.
When in your Bible,
you each day abide
your spiritual thirst
will amply be supplied.
When in the Word,
you are immersed
God’s power in you
will be dispersed.
When the Scriptures,
your read each day
freedom you will find
on the righteous way.
When you saturate,
your heart and mind
in the Word of God . . .
the truth you will find!

Lord, give unto me,

let me be Spirit lead.

keep worry at bay
transform my heart
upon each new day.

I’m seeking God first,
before I do anything else
I will be looking unto Him
not to my wretched self.
I’ll be seeking His kingdom,
for my daily bread
focusing on the destination
of the glory that lies ahead.
I’m seeking in my Bible,
what He has for me today
I’m asking Him to show me
His true and righteous way.
I’m going to discover,
the path that He has for me
I’m going to attempt to try it
with all my physical energy.
I’m going to seek God,
with all my heart and soul
I am going to make Him
my life’s one and only goal.
I’m going to put God first,
before anything else . . .
no one will come between us
not even my old wicked self!
