I lift my eyes heavenward,
till I envision in my mind . . .
the glory that’s awaiting me
the day with Jesus I will be
My heart swells up with joy,
a chorus of praise begins
for all God is doing for me
till with the Lord I will be.
My spirit sings sweet melodies,
eternal peace they usher in
oh, the bliss that’s awaiting me
on the day with Christ I will be.
I feel the burning in my soul,
as my trust begins to flare
I know my hope will carry me
till with my Savior I will be.

the day with Jesus I will be
all because He first loved me!

Keep me focused on You Lord,
when going through the fire
keep my eyes straight on You
so I’ll know Your heart’s desire.
Keep me dedicated to You Lord,
when I’m full of dread and fear
keep me looking heavenward
so You can draw me near.
Keep me devoted to You Lord,
when the storm is raging on
keep my mind centered upward
so to Your will I can be drawn.
Keep me attuned to You Lord,
when everything’s falling apart
keep my faith horizontally intact
so You’ll always be in my heart.
Keep me focused on You Lord,
no matter what I’m going through
help me be to be fixated . . .
on the day I’ll be with you!

When my mind is calm,
when it is at rest
when it feels as if . . .
it cannot be stressed.
Lord, it’s only because,
it is stayed on You
and all of the things
that I know are true.
When my mind is peaceful,
when it is not disturbed
when it feels as if . . .
it cannot be perturbed.
Lord, it is only because,
it is focused on You
and not on the things
that the world spews.
When my mind is fixed,
Lord, on where You are
the day till I’m with You
feels like it isn’t very far!

Sometimes I have to take,
my eyes off of me
so that into You Lord . . .
I can really see.
For when I am focused,
on all the other things
I forget the hope
each day to me You bring.
Sometimes I have to make,
Lord, time just for You
instead of being caught up
in the tasks I have to do.
For I get so very busy,
with all my daily chores
that I forget You called me
to be a child of Yours.
Sometimes I push myself,
to take from life a break
so that with You Lord . . .
more time I can make!

Whenever my mind,
on God is in focus
my trust in Him
I can really notice.
For when my thoughts,
His love spotlights
into Him I get bigger
and brighter insights.
Whenever my heart,
on Jesus is fixated
my faith in Him
gets over-inflated.
For when my spirit,
His grace highlights
the more His return
delights and excites.
When my mind and heart,
are on God stayed . . .
the more to His peace
my spirit is swayed!

I’m pressing on,
till these problems are gone
I’m moving forward
with my eyes looking upward.
I’m trusting God,
and the guidance of His rod
I’m letting go
knowing the way He will show.
I’m going easy,
not getting faint or queasy
I’m letting God’s peace
all my fears oil and grease.
I’m believing in His leading,
and I’m practicing my heeding
I’m doing my best
and letting God do the rest.
I’m pressing on,
till these problems are gone
I’m pressing towards the goal
with all my heart and soul!
