Take a cup of Forgiveness,
stir in some of God’s grace
then fold it into your heart
and this recipe you’ll embrace.
But, you’ll need to keep adding,
more ingredients as you go
if you plan on having a year
where Love can rise and grow.
You’re going to need Patience,
at least a cup or two . . .
if you want to have Meekness
bubbling up inside of you.
You’ll need to slowly blend in,
a heaping spoonful of Goodness
then beat it into the mixture
so you can whip up Gentleness.
Don’t forget to add a pinch of Joy,
and as you whisk it into Peace
add a dollop of Faith and Trust
and Hope you will release.
If you live in the Spirit,
you’ll need to walk in it too . . .
and if you follow this recipe
it’ll produce His fruit in you!

This year give a fruit basket,
to everyone you know . . .
fill it with Love and affection
until it begins to overflow.
Pack it with a bunch of Peace,
put into it some Tenderness
don’t forget to stock it with . . .
a whole lot of Gentleness.
Be sure to add some Faith,
Temperance and Patience
when you mix it all together . . .
it’ll release a pleasing fragrance.
Place into it Self-Control.
pile on high a lot of Meekness
top it off with endless Joy . . .
for a basket full of Goodness.
This year make up a fruit basket,
then pass it all around
tell others of the hope . . .
that in Jesus you have found!

When the fruit of the Spirit,
starts producing in you
love and joy will be seen
in all that you say and do.
From there they will bring,
peace and forbearance
that will last you until . . .
Jesus’ next appearance.
When the fruit of the Spirit,
produces in you gentleness
it will give rise to more faith
in all of God’s goodness.
From there it will grow,
meekness and temperance
so people will see in you . . .
a Jesus resemblance.
When the fruit of the Spirit,
starts producing in you . . .
there will be no law against
the things in you it can do!

There are no rules against,
producing good fruit
there is no incarceration
for letting them take root.
For we are free to grow,
love, joy and peace
so having more patience
in us can increase.
There’s are no rules against,
the fruit of the Spirit
there’ll be no arrests made
or eternal demerits.
For we are unrestricted,
in showing others gentleness
as we are being guided
by the Spirit of His goodness.
There are no laws against,
faith and meekness growing
for it’s the only way our lives . . .
can be self-controlling!

For good fruit to grow,
you will need patience
so to all you will be . . .
polite and gracious.
You will need to be,
caring and loving
so to all you will be . . .
generous and giving.

you will need self-control
so to all you will be . . .
a gentle, kind soul.
You will need to be,
charitable and helpful
so to all you will be . . .
courteous and graceful.

is impossible to do
unless the Holy Spirit . . .
produces them in you!

I love this time of year,
with Thanksgiving just ahead
it reminds me of some facts
in the Bible I have read . . .
In all things be thankful,
let joy and praise flow out of you
for everything be grateful
give God the glory He is due.
Make peacefulness your habitation,
let your gentleness be known
be kind, tender-hearted and forgiving
never be the first to cast a stone.
Extend a hand to the needy,
let charity be your perfect gift
help all those who have not
bring back to God those adrift.
Show others your appreciation,
let them see your gratitude
bless them for their helpfulness
be not selfish in your attitude.
Reach out to the sick and hurting,
let them see Jesus’ true compassion
show all acts of grace and mercy
let not the sun go down on your passion.
Be content with all that you have,
rejoice in whatever is your state
be satisfied with all of the goodness
God places each day on your plate.
In everything be thankful,
let your praise be heard by all
in everything be grateful
let your joy be seen by all!

A kind, gentle spirit,
is full of God’s grace
His mercy each day
it’s ready to embrace.
It prays to discern,
what is God’s will
then it waits on Him
as it remains still.
To self it’s crucified,
in Christ its made new
it keeps Calvary
always in its view.
It knows its limits,
goes not over the line
for it’s firmly rooted
to the True Vine.
A kind, gentle spirit,
needs to be cultivated
by having its ego . . .
by Jesus deflated!

Wisdom from above,
is pristine and spotless

A life that is gentle,

instead it follows

For it knows to treat,

An easy-going soul,

for the Spirit of God

Within each of us,
the Holy Spirit resides . . .
and the fruit of our faith
needs to be daily applied.
But, we must feel the fire,
the burning of desire
to call upon His strength
so His might we’ll acquire.
Then we’ll be loving,
in all things we’ll have peace
and our joy and happiness
will be natural to release.
To have God like patience,
we must learn to be kind
then gentleness will flow
from our hearts and minds.
We need to let humility,
guide us to being meek
by not forgetting His power
each day we must seek.
The Holy Spirit abides,
in every one of us . . .
and to produce much fruit
in Jesus we need to trust!

A kind, loving spirit,
a heart gently caring
is something we need
to always be sharing.
Forgiving and gracious,
divine in nature
is the kind of love
we need to nurture.
A compassionate heart,
filled with brotherly love
resembling the same
as our Father’s above.
Affectionate and warm,
always charitable too
are the things we need
to always show and do.
A heart tender and kind,
a spirit gentle and warm
should be what becomes
our daily norm!

Everyday there seems to be,
more rules, new laws . . .
mandates unbelievable
filled with plenty of flaws.
But, I know of some things,
there are no laws against . . .
for they’re not made up by man
but, Holy Spirit dispensed.
They distribute faith,
gentleness they allot
they give us temperance
when our nerves are shot.
They provide to us love,
joy they daily release
into our souls they render
the promise of eternal peace.
They help us to be meek,
by filling us with goodness
making it easier for us
to show others kindness.
Into each of us these fruit,
the Holy Spirit instills . . .
unlike the laws of man . . .
there’s no spending pork or frills!

It’s hard sometimes,
having self-control
it’s not easy to let
restraint into your soul.
But, it needn’t be,
as hard as you think
when with the Holy Spirit
your life is in sync.
It’s hard sometimes,
to be peaceful
it’s not easy to let
hope make you joyful.
But, it needn’t be,
that difficult to do
when the Holy Spirit
works inside of you.
It’s hard sometimes,
to be good and kind
it’s not easy to let
gentleness fill your mind.
But, it needn’t be,
too problematic
for, with the Holy Spirit
it becomes automatic.
It’s hard sometimes,
developing these fruits
unless the Holy Spirit . . .
establishes their roots!

When imperfections,
in others you see
don’t call them out
instead, like Jesus be.
For in your humility,
they’ll see their lack of
and for what’s not said
will be noted out of love.
When someone’s pride,
gets in your face
don’t go off on them
instead, show some grace.
For in your patience,
they will start to find
how their self-importance
rules their heart and mind.
When your own faults,
are pointed out to you

If we’re to be meek,
but, still be strong . . .
then we must believe
God won’t steer us wrong.
If we’re to be humble,
but, still be bold . . .
then we must let God
into our heart’s to mold.
If we’re to be poor,
but, still be wealthy
then we must remain . . .
to God’s ways healthy.
If we’re to be gentle,
but, still be confident . . .
then we must trust God
is always competent.
If were to be meek,
humble, poor and gentle
then we must live a life . . .
of faith, trust and self-denial!

Filled with the Spirit,
producing His fruit
now that in my heart
God’s love took root.
As I continue to grow,
more joy and peace
I find being patient
is easier to release.
As I’m cultivating,
the seeds of gentleness
it’s becoming natural
to sow deeds of goodness.
Tempering my faith,
with lots of meekness
is helping me to serve
with true humbleness.
Filled with the Spirit,
growing His fruit . . .
praying with God’s help
they will all take root!

Acts of kindness,
words of hope
we all need them
to help us cope.
Acts of compassion,
words of forgiveness
we should all make
our daily business.
Acts of love,
words of encouragement
helps us through
our own discouragement.
Acts of gentleness,
words of appreciation
seen in our actions
and communication.
Acts of generosity
words of helpfulness
leaves no room
for our own selfishness.
Acts of kindness,
words spoken in deed
we all should give . . .
but, we also need!

I’m putting on Christ,
I’m wearing the robe of love
wrapping it around me
till it fits like a glove.
I’m going to don an attitude,
of humility and meekness
I’m going to bind myself up
with gentleness and kindness.
I’m putting on Christ,
after righteousness I’ll thirst
I’m going to hunger after
putting God in my life first.
I’m going to turn away,
from temptation and sin
I’m calling upon the power
He gives to me within.
I’m putting on Christ,
wrapping myself in His grace
for it’s the only way I know
to finish the faithful race!

Every year at this same time,
we sit at our dining tables . . .
feasting upon what has become
Thanksgiving Day staples.
We gobble down the turkey,
mashed potatoes and candy yams
then we sit back and disclaim . . .
I can’t believe how full I am.
But, this year I am not serving,
the traditional Thanksgiving fare
instead a healthy fruit salad . . .
is all I’m planning to share.
I’m going take some gentleness,
stuff it full of God’s love
along side of it will be the peace
that comes only from above.
I’ll pile high on each plate,
some joy and some goodness
right next to them I will place
some faith and some meekness.
I’ll top it off with patience,
and for the piece of resistance
I’ll pray for those whom I serve. . .
to have a lot of temperance!

Every day Lord,
I strive to be like You
every day I pray . . .

to be gentle and kind
