True love does not boast,
it’s not encased in pride
it is always forthright
hasn’t anything to hide.
It is not offensive,
it’s gentle and graceful
it is always patient
never is it forceful.
True love is full of tact,
it’s always to all kind
it doesn’t play games
with someone else’s mind.
It doesn’t act haughty,
or say things causing pain
love that is agape . . .
does not things in vain.
The truest form of love,
is filled with truth and light
for it wants to be to Jesus . . .
always pleasing in His sight!

I love this time of year,
with Thanksgiving just ahead
it reminds me of some facts
in the Bible I have read . . .
In all things be thankful,
let joy and praise flow out of you
for everything be grateful
give God the glory He is due.
Make peacefulness your habitation,
let your gentleness be known
be kind, tender-hearted and forgiving
never be the first to cast a stone.
Extend a hand to the needy,
let charity be your perfect gift
help all those who have not
bring back to God those adrift.
Show others your appreciation,
let them see your gratitude
bless them for their helpfulness
be not selfish in your attitude.
Reach out to the sick and hurting,
let them see Jesus’ true compassion
show all acts of grace and mercy
let not the sun go down on your passion.
Be content with all that you have,
rejoice in whatever is your state
be satisfied with all of the goodness
God places each day on your plate.
In everything be thankful,
let your praise be heard by all
in everything be grateful
let your joy be seen by all!

Love is patient,
it doesn’t keep score
when it’s insulted
it doesn’t get sore.
Love isn’t self-centered,
it isn’t conceited
when it is put down
it isn’t defeated.
Love is kind,
it doesn’t get mad
when disappointed
is doesn’t get sad.
Love isn’t self-seeking
it isn’t disturbed
when it’s agitated
it isn’t perturbed.
Love is patient,
love is kind . . .
to other’s faults
love is blind!

The gift of gentleness,
is the perfect present . . .
it’s reasonable and it’s fair
it’s always nice and pleasant.
It’s full of graciousness,
it has a kindly disposition
it’s courteous and it’s polite
it’s never an imposition.
It’s tender and it’s loving,
it’s caring and considerate
it’s even temper and it’s tranquil
it’s always just and moderate.
It’s passionate and fervent,
it’s easy-going and agreeable
it’s calming and reassuring
it’s sympathetic and likeable.
The gift of gentleness,
is one we all need to give
it’s the gift that says . . .
“I’m sorry” or “You I forgive!”

I want to be a carbon copy,
like Jesus I want to be
I want it to be His image
that others see in me.
I want to model myself,
after the life Jesus lead
I want to make it a habit
to do exactly as He said.
I want to copy His actions,
by being patient and kind
I want to be just like Jesus
in my heart, soul and mind.
I want to duplicate His every step,
to walk in all His ways
I want to be a replica of Jesus
for the rest of my days.
I want to be a carbon copy,
of mercy, hope and grace
I want others to see peace and joy
when they look me in my face!

God’s love never fails,
it won’t wither or pale
God’s love stays true
makes everything new.
God’s love is firm,
though we may squirm
God’s love is patient
when we’re complacent.
God’s love is kind,
though we’re resigned
God’s love is gentle
when we’re temperamental.

though we may not trust
God’s love is pure

Lord, help me to grow in grace,
by being more kind and respectful
help me to be more giving . . .
without being rude or resentful.
Help me to be more pleasing,
let me bring to others pleasure
help me to be less selfish
so my time with them I’ll treasure.
Help me to be a reflection,
of a life living with You near
help me to seek Your will
with godly reverence and fear.
Help me to be more grateful,
thankful to You for all things
help me to grow in grace . . .
no matter what this life brings!

Love that is . . .
patient and kind
that reaches down
touching mankind.
Love that is chaste,
pure in its thought
that humbles itself
before it’s sought.
Love that holds,
its temper still
is not angered
feels no ill-will.
Love that hopes,
is full of desire
that holds itself true
that doesn’t expire.
Love that trusts,
believes and is sure
that is forever
that which will endure.
Love that never fails,
or ceases to be
that can’t be bought
but which is free.
Love that is honest,
sincere and real
that evil and darkness
can’t conceal.
Love that comes,
from deep in your heart
that which only
the Lord can impart.
This is the love . . .
we ought to show
to each and every
person that we know!

Blessed are those who are humble,
those who are submissive and meek
those who give themselves to God
who’s will they obediently seek.
Blessed are those who are gentle,
those who are patient and tolerant
those who are rarely provoked
who are restrained and moderate.
Blessed are those who are tranquil,
those who are calm and serene
those who are unruffled and relaxed
who God’s peace they quietly glean.
