True love does not boast,
it’s not encased in pride
it is always forthright
hasn’t anything to hide.
It is not offensive,
it’s gentle and graceful
it is always patient
never is it forceful.
True love is full of tact,
it’s always to all kind
it doesn’t play games
with someone else’s mind.
It doesn’t act haughty,
or say things causing pain
love that is agape . . .
does not things in vain.
The truest form of love,
is filled with truth and light
for it wants to be to Jesus . . .
always pleasing in His sight!

Waiting patiently,
wondering when it will be
when Jesus will come again
so that Him I finally see.
Keeping my ears open,
listening for the sound
of a trumpet blare . . .
calling me heaven bound.
Waiting diligently,
keeping my eyes on the skies
when Jesus in the clouds
blesses my waiting eyes.
Keeping my heart faithful,
trusting God’s love
so that one day I can be
with Him in heaven above.
Waiting tirelessly,
eagerly and patiently
waiting for Jesus . . .
to return obediently!

A heart filled with grace,
is a heart that is kind
compassion for others
it’s always able to find.
It puts on humility,
wears the cloak of patience
meekness is its gown
as is the robe of justice.
It’s wrapped in God’s peace,
It’s covered in forgiveness
it drapes itself with love
it’s swathed in gentleness.
When a heart is full of grace,
gratitude is its garment
and the Word of God . . .
is its wardrobe requirement!

I asked God for patience,
and He sent me a trial
for He wanted to see . . .
if through it I’d smile.
But instead I cried,
for I was not asking
to be tried nor go . . .
through any testing.
I asked God for calm,
and He sent me a storm
for He wanted to see . . .
how I would perform.
But, I was not ready,
for what was ahead
so I pouted about it . . .
and blamed Him instead.
I asked God to be patient,
but He said to me . . .
My child I tried but you were
too stubborn to be.
So, I asked Him to forgive,
my stiff-neck behavior
and to bless me instead . . .
with more mercy and favor!

Going through the fire,
things getting way too hot
tried beyond your patience
stomach tied in a knot?
Flames have you jumping,
can’t stand the heat
feeling the dread
that comes with defeat?
Well, don’t let the smoke,
conceal what God is doing
for the fire in your bones
is God’s way of pursuing.
Those flames that you feel,
are meant to purge
impurities out of your life
till you and God merge.
So, when being fire tested,
and it’s starts getting hot
you’re just turning to gold
in God’s refining pot!

It only takes a thread of faith,
to keep you from unraveling
it only takes one strand of trust
so God can do some refashioning.
It only takes one single cord,
to have patience in all things
it only takes a fiber of hope
to have the peace God brings.
It only takes a wisp of conviction,
to believe in what you can’t see
it only takes a little string of truth
to see how great God can be.
It only takes a remnant of belief,
and a willingness to pray
it only takes one heartfelt cry
to find the Truth, Life and way.
It only takes a thread of faith,
to weave your salvation story
it only takes one strand of trust
so God can have His due glory!

The fruit of longsuffering,
we all need to bear
to show to others
how much we care.
Care when they hurt,
or if having a bad day
we need to take time
to hear what they say.
The fruit of longsuffering,
we all need to carry
and to our own anger
we will need to bury.
For when with others,
we are ill-tempered
our lives to Jesus . . .
won’t be surrendered.
The fruit of longsuffering,
takes a lot of restraint
and over our impatience
we need to have constraint!

It takes time,
for faith to grow
it takes a while
for it to flow.
It takes patience,
for faith to take root
it takes sometimes . . .
needing a reboot.
It takes endurance,
for faith to set in
it takes a lot of grit
if the race we’re to win.
It takes fortitude,
for faith to be strong
it takes not standing for
what we know is wrong.

for faith to develop
it takes an attitude
of never giving up!

There’s always a reason,
for us to be thankful . . .
there’s always a chance
to show we are grateful.
But, so often we are not,
appreciative for all things
especially when hardships
a brand new day brings.
It’s easier to complain,
to criticize and grumble
to shake our heads in disbelief
then to be meek and humble.
For, when things don’t go our way,
we blame God and we curse
not realizing our lack of trust
only makes our problems worse.
There are plenty of reasons,
for us to be grateful . . .
but, first we need to learn
in everything to be thankful!

A heart long-suffering,
dosen’t strike back
it doesn’t let its lips
loosely snap or smack.
It doesn’t get riled up,
when insults are thrown
it know it is wise
to hold onto its own.
A mind long-tempered,
knows it needs to cool off
though others may choose
at it to mock and scoff.
It’s doesn’t spout out,

instead it seeks
more peaceful results.
A life long-suffering,
is one that knows
God’s patience with them
they too need to show!

A time for patience,
and for some rest
a time to let God do . . .
what He knows is best.
A time for His Spirit,
to lead from above
a time to linger . . .
and abide in His love.
A time for endurance,
to run the good race
a time to stop running
and abound in His grace.
A time for calmness,
when composure is gone
a time to discover
how to be closer drawn.
A time to be quiet,
to sit and be still
a time to actively seek
what is God’s perfect will.
A time for silence,
of both mind and heart
a time for God only . . .
nothing keeping us apart.
A time to lie down,
in pastures green
a time to be protected
under His almighty wing.
A time to know and believe,
He’ll never leave or forsake

we all need to make!

Love bears all things,
it is not rude
it doesn’t possess
an arrogant mood.
For it is patient,
it is also kind
it does not boast
or have a lofty mind.
Love believes all things,
it seeks the truth
it is not harsh
nor is it uncouth.
For it’s not irritable,

for it is diligent.

If we’re to remain,
and wait patiently
we must be willing
to do so obediently.

I am not ashamed,
of the hope I hold

Sometimes our realities,
leaves us doubting . . .
sometimes they cause us
for relief shouting.
But, if we’re to trust God,
we must do so patiently
and wait for His answers
with a faith steadfastly.
Sometimes our situations,
leaves us questioning . . .
sometimes they leave us
with fearfulness, trembling.
But, if we’re to believe Jesus,
our burdens came to bear
then we will find His peace
as we give Him our care.
Sometimes our challenges,
leaves us wondering . . .
but, then God lets us know
He is never slumbering!

It takes courage,
a spirit willing to go the length
it takes confidence
letting God supply the strength.
It takes commitment,
a determination to do God’s will
it takes patience
a willingness to wait and be still.
It takes persistence,
a resolve to keep pressing on
it takes diligence
for the faithful race to be won.
It takes perseverance,
a heart willing to go the distance
it takes a dedicated mind
able to handle the resistance.
It takes focus,
eyes always kept on the goal
it takes Jesus . . .
to have a conquering soul!
