God’s plans for you,
are yours to discover . . .
they’re found in your Bible
from cover to cover.
A future of hope,
for you He has in store
once you open to Him
your seeking heart’s door.
Your life He will guide,
when you seek Him first
He’ll satisfy your needs
your hunger and thirst.
Once to Him you commit,
your steps He will guide
when directions you need
He’ll help you to decide.
God’s plans for you,
are easy to find . . .
but, first you must seek Him
with all your heart and mind!

I live with fear,
out of respect
for the Word of God
I do not reject.
I hold the truth,
close to my breast
so in righteousness
my soul can rest.
I live boldly,
wisdom I seek
for the more I know
the less I am weak.

in times trying
knowing my strength
He’ll be supplying.

Lord, when I study the Word,
I’m filled with true inspiration
for it opens up to me . . .
thought for contemplation.
I see that You desire,
for me to seek Your will
I can see my objective
is learning to be still.
I see You have a purpose,
for me so many plans
I see that I must leave
everything in Your hands.
I see that You aim,
to renew me each day
I see that I must seek
the Truth, Life and Way.

for me to finish the race

are for you to receive
all you have to do . . .
is to trust and believe.
All of His blessings
He wants to bestow
all of His goodness
He wants you to know.
You can find them,
in the Good Book
all you have to do . . .
is take a good look.
They flow all about,
woven all through
the promises of God
are waiting for you.
They hold your future,
they’ll guide your way
comfort and give you
strength for the day.
All of God’s promises,
are yours to believe
but, you must open up . . .
your Bible to receive!

There is a Light,
it’s burning in me
through the darkness
it helps me to see.
It’s like a pillar,
consumed with fire
kindling in my soul
God’s will and desire.
There is a Light,
in my heart it shines
through the darkness
the truth it defines.
It’s like a lamp,
it softly glows
my every step
God’s path it shows.
There is a Light,

no man can put out

Lord, I am getting ready,
for another year . . .
and I pray it is one
that brings me to You near.
I know that we are close,
but I feel we could be
even closer yet . . .
and I know it’s up to me.
For, You are always here,

when by Bible I daily read.
There I can find You,
with words comforting
as tender drops of mercy

If Jesus we love,
His words we’ll keep
we will follow them
like obedient sheep.
We will seek to do,
what He has taught

A way of escape,
God will make . . .
whenever temptation
at us satan shakes.
For He always has,
for us a way out
and using His Word
is the only route.

I love when God sends,
Autumn’s first refreshing rain
to wash away the grime . . .
on my soul’s windowpane.
It helps me to see,
how over summer’s busy break
the dryness that’s within . . .
and the changes I need to make.
I study the dust settling,
atop my old, trusty Bible
shaking it off I am ready
for a Holy Spirit revival.
The showers bring about,
a renewal in my heart
restoring my faith and hope
before winter’s chilly start.
I love when God sends,
Autumn’s first refreshing rain
so in my heart and soul . . .
Jesus can settle in again!

Lord, You are my portion,
You are all that I need
Your goodness fills me up
when on your Word I feed.
The measure of Your grace,
fills me to the brim
for, when I study and read
Your sufficiency sets in.
With each verse that I tuck,
deep down in my heart
my joy becomes complete
as eternal hope You impart.
I find peace in each Word,
and the promises they hold
for, they satisfy and keep
my heart from growing cold.
The degree of my faith,
can be found on each page
and the amount of my trust

if to Jesus we run

My faith in God keeps growing,
it’s getting sturdier everyday
for, I delight myself in His Word
no matter the time of day.
There is a continuous renewal,
flowing right out of my Bible
daily there’s encouragement
no matter my burden or trial.
The Word of God is nourishment,
it makes me strong day or night
it brings refreshment to my soul
keeping me in the faithful fight.
I can see the fruit of growth,
maturing right inside of me
no matter what season I’m in
I know in God’s Word I need to be.
My faith in God keeps growing,
for day and night I meditate . . .
I delight myself in His Word
when through my Bible I navigate!

I can do nothing without Christ,
even though He knows I try
for when I try on my own . . .
my fruit so often turns dry.
I may think I can do it,
for my plans seem so right
but, without His assistance . . .
they lack the salt and the light.
There’s not one thing I can do,
that will last or succeed . . .
for without His directions
there is no way to precede.
I may tell myself I don’t need,
any guidance or any aide
but, without Jesus helping me
my fruit just begins to fade.
I can do nothing without Christ,
but, when to His will I resign
I can harvest all of the fruit
right off His one True Vine!

Lord, give me today,
my daily bread
nourish my soul
from verses I’ve read.
Nurture and feed me,
right from Your Word
strengthen my heart
from sermons I heard.
Lord, give me today,
manna like dew . . .
so that I may get
much closer to You.
Sustain and fortify me,
through the Good Book
may it always be
my divine guidebook.
Lord, give me today,
all that I need . . .
as on Your Word
each day I feed!

Beware my Christian friends,
satan is gunning after you . . .
putting on the Armor of God
is the first thing you must do.
He’s always a step ahead,
setting up his land mines
his first rule of attack
is to mess with our minds.
He’s waiting in a fox hole,
ready to ambush you
so be sure you’re prepared
with a Scripture or two.
You must be prepared,
you’re always in his range
the rules of combat
everyday he will change.
When things are going good,
it will draw his weapon out
being in the Word of God
will keep away any doubt.
Beware my Christian friends,
you’re not under friendly fire
for your very soul . . .
is satan’s one true desire!
