Desiderata – Latin for "desired things"

Gosh, it’s been some time since I last blogged. So, here I am with a more cheery update 🙂 :

On the 3rd June, I received my final semester’s exam results and I’m glad to share with you that I’ve completed my 2-year degree study. ^^

The overall results were satisfactory. I was told I could have done better if full effort was given and if I had slept at normal hours. 😦 I reflected on that and agreed with them. I made a promise to myself that I will be a better learner and live a healthier lifestyle. All the best to me!

Despite the unsatisfactory results, I’m just relieved to know that I will be able to graduate. PHEW! It’s a big relief. 😉

Thanks to friends/family for giving me lots of support and encouragement during these two years… and many many thanks for congratulating me via sms/calls ^^ (Prepare for mushiness)  I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Heeeheee!

Two weeks have passed since the last day of my semester examinations.

What have I been doing?

That’s a question I’ve been asking myself and the answer is: nothing.

I need to draw up plans and take appropriate actions before more weeks zooms by without my knowing.

Time to get off the couch! Keke ^^

It didn’t end at one bad friendship.

Sadly, there’s another.

Forgive and forget?

Yes, I did that once.

Once more?

No, I can’t do that anymore

especially when the lies doesn’t seem to end

and it’s getting more ridiculous.

Goodbye

as I am unable to trust you anymore.

It might occur to you at some point in your life when you start questioning your circle of friends. For me, it is now.

I have been pondering over a particular issue. There are certain individuals I know who are vexating and they are the ones I would very much like to avoid. But, why am I not? Is it pity for that person? Is it my inability to be forceful when it comes to deciding who are my friends? Am I not seeing the difference between an acquiantance and a friend? Do I not see the mismatch of personalities? Or is it…?

At this point in my life, I have to decide who are the friends in my ‘circle’ and who are the ones I will have to tactfully bade goodbye. Personally, I believe in the importance of being surrounded by people where there is mutual trust and love. I cannot be holding on to bad friendship. I need and will let go of the bad to prevent myself from losing the values (taught by my parents and guided by the Desiderata) I hold so dearly and becoming a bitter person. I want to keep striving to be a happy and better person!!! 🙂

Hi friends! 🙂

It’s been a long time. My apologies for the lack of updates.

Well, be glad to know your friend here managed to survive through the past few hectic weeks to bring you this update. ^_^

For the past weeks, I’ve completed a managing change case study, an workplace ER assignment on knowledge workers, a reflection on a stimulated interview exercise, a personal skills audit, a change management portfolio with my group and took an investment test.

GAHHH, did I bore you with ‘I did this XX and that XX and…’ nonsense??? HAA! *shrugs shoulders* This is caused by the lack of leisure time due to school work. Haaa…

Anyhow, the most memorable was the group assignment. The assignment have a word limit of 5000 words and for the first draft, we’ve 11 000 words. YIKES!!! Yes, we’ve exceeded the wordcount and it’s horror for the editor. Not to boast, but I feel awesomely proud with myself for summarising and cutting the 11000 words down to 5000. HAHA!! And I can say that more is definitely better than less, especially when you can choose the important parts to insert into the final product. Like my previous group assignments, I’ve learnt valuable lessons from this experience to better myself.

Projects may be a pain in the a** at times, but the benefits they bring are valuable for future use!!! That’s what I believe. 🙂

2 more major assignments and 3 examinations to go!!!

Wish me good health and memory…

and luck too!

🙂

This week has been the most intensive but fulfilling week for me. In this 5-day Work-Integrated Learning 2 workshop, I am to prepare myself for a stimulated employment interview. I had to read up on the organisation and job position, as well as prepare the documents for the interview.

For this stimulated employment interview, we were placed in groups of 6 (groupings were allocated by the school system) and I am glad to be able to meet very nice people. I am pleasantly surprised at how the 6 of us were able to feel so comfortable with one another and it seems as if we were friends all the while. 🙂 Well, I didn’t know I had it in me still, that is to be able to make friends like that. LOL!

Despite some minor setbacks in the stimulated interview, it still was a fantastic experience working with the others. After the interview session, I believe I suffered some ‘withdrawal symptoms‘. HAHA :D!! How I wished there were more of such group assignments with randomly picked members. It will be such a wonderful experience working with different people!

DANG!!! Can I turn back the hands of time and redo my tertiary education??? Keke ^^

while in the cafe… February 11, 2010

After my stimulated interview, I was slacking at the school’s cafe with my friends.

I turned around and noticed that there was a magazine on the table behind us.

I looked around to check if the owner of the magazine was around.

Look left. Look right and left again.

Coast clear.

I took the magazine and happily flipped the pages.

Suddenly, the owner returned to the seat.

OMG!!!!

Sneakily, I returned the magazine to where it first was.

BUT, the owner caught me.

‘Oh, it’s okay. Did you learnt anything from the magazine?’

Still embarassed by the incident, I replied a soft ‘Yes, a little.’

‘That’s good. It’s a good magazine. Does the school send you a copy as well?’

‘Well, no. We need to subscribe for it.’

‘I see’

KAYZ, THE BORING CONVERSATION ENDS HERE. Right??? Nahz. Haa

[Lecturer stood up and came over to our table]

‘Here miss, you may have the magazine.’

‘Thanks!!!’

Woah, such a nice lecturer!!!! He can be so cool about the whole incident and handled it well. If I were to be in his shoes, I would be wondering why this crazy girl stole my magazine. HAAA.

Meeting nice people makes my day!!!

🙂

I am well aware of what’s going on…

but never will I allow the ones who stayed loyal to me to be treated like benchwarmers.

And neither would I betray that loyalty by leaving them to fend for themselves.

We went different ways and seeked for like-minded others. This is a good choice!

Let’s do well!

Although the wardrobe’s filled with clothes right to the top,

I’m still going out of the house in repeated clothes

and they are wearing off so much from the washing that they are almost transparent!

Opps! =p Haaa

Time to look through the clothes in the wardrobe and organise them into three piles – to throw, to donate and to keep.

And what if there’s less than 10% to keep??? Haha. That would just give me more reason to shop for new ones and drag along my shopaholic friends. 😉
