
I think that I may have made my take on the South look peaceful and bucolic. A lot of it is. Lots of two lane country roads. But, there is heavy industry, mostly oil, along The Mississippi River. This is the Valerio Energy Company’s plant on St. Bernard Highway or State Route 46. It is just downriver from Chalmette. This is about as far downriver as the oil plants go. If you drive upriver there are oil refineries, tanks and pipelines way up past Baton Rouge.
The picture. I made this picture about noon or a little later. I don’t have to tell any of you that the sky normally doesn’t look like this at that time of day. It isn’t magic. It’s me.


It may not be bucolic, but you have given charm and swoon to the industrial landscape.
