Friendship thanks

Image
This will be my last post this year.  I've had a fabulous year crafting and sharing on here but it's time for a break to enjoy the festive season and return in the new year with the same or even increased passion for craft and expression through craft. I've made a kind of promise to myself that next year I will be focusing less on cards, I'll have to make the usual birthday and Christmas cards but I won't be going for the traditional methods.  I want to have the same freedom I have with art journaling in card making because I hope this will make it less stressful. I'm not a natural card maker and I stress a lot over card making and then feel very disappointed that I haven't achieved anywhere near the high standard natural card makers achieve.  This year that stress and disappointment has taken the joy out of crafting for me and I can't wait to get that back. Here is a card I whipped up quickly as part of the facebook challenge for Ike's World fan...

Congratulations Christina

Christmas

It is Christmas over at  Ikes Art Challenges  and I've used this gorgeous image to create yet another Christmas Card, I send over 100 so I fully understand that by now any readers are sick of my Christmas cards.

Holly Wreath

Image
This one took some considerable time and I'm not sure the gemini will ever forgive me for the number of holly leaves and poinsettia it has been forced to cut this year.  Unlike the others this is one I won't be gifting and will be bringing out each year to enjoy myself. I've used a wire frame wreath and covered it in ribbon. Then I have heat gun glued millions of holly leaves, poinsettias and polystyrene berries and robins on to it.

Add Sparkle

Image
It's time to throw that glitter around and add some sparkle to the challenge at  International Art & Soul  this fortnight.  I'm a fan of glitter but wanted to do something other than Christmas Cards with it.  So I've used this Rapunzel image from  Ike's Art  and glittered it up with glittered card.

The Snow Queen

WOW what an experience at Killerton last week. The house has been transformed into the story of The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson.  Absolutely phenomenal doesn't even begin to cover it.  It is such a magical and heart warming experience seeing each aspect of the story laid out in the different rooms.
