Fur or Feathers

Image
The challenges at  Ikes World Challenges  always let my imagination run free so it's not really surprising that I started screaming feather boxes in the early hours of the morning so loud I actually woke myself up!   I've made a box and decorated with feathers and then popped a wise owl { From Ikes ARt }tag on it.

Dies and punches

Image
URGH punches and I have never got on but thankfully the challenge at  IAAS  meant I could use dies.  I've used a punch too though that actually worked which surprised me.  I've used the we are memory keepers punch board for boxes.  I've then decorated it with dies.

Winter

Image
It's all about Winter over at  IAAS  and I'm pleased to say I like this challenge it's a great theme for Christmas cards.  I've got lots of photos I never do anything with so I've starting using them on cards.

Water

Image
Wow the challenges at  Ikes World Challenges  are really falling in my favour, it's another favourite theme of mine and I am delighted that I got to use the Narwhal image again.

Remembrance

Image
oh dear it's another theme of mine and in my head when I choose I was looking to remember important events, the suffragette movement, the wars, the things that has made a big impact on everyone not just ourselves but of course I forgotn to explain the theme and now I've had this crazy idea about remembering the aninals who were a big part of war effort. If your brave enough please do come and join us over at  IAAS  with this challenge.

All Hallows Eve

Image
Oh dear I think I am going to be very unpopular with this one...I created a tic tac toe of Halloween things for the challenge at  IAAS  this fortnight. At the time I thought yea this will be fun, now I'm nowhere near as sure about it all. Anyway this is my creation.

Trick or Treat

Image
I LOVE LOVE LOVE a Halloween or All Hallows Eve theme.  So with this one at  Ikes World Challenges  I just sat back and let my imagination roam free.  Ike has a digi called Trick or Treat so how could I not use it?

YEllow and Orange

Image
Oh boy beyond a sunset who uses Orange and yellow?  Well that's the challenge at  IAAS  this time and I can't wait to see what you come up with. I had some marbled papers left and deicded to make a box that will contain letters I've been sent.

Fury Animals

Image
Now who can't resist a cute and fury animal? I could do with a dog to curl up with right now that's for sure and over at  IAAS we are celebrating all those cute and fury animals.

Fall

Image
I loved this theme, I just couldn't help it I knew from the very second I saw the theme what I was going to do.  I have used the Cuckoo clock from Ikes Art for the challenge at  Ikes World Challenge

Fancy fold cards

Image
It's all about fancy folds over at  IAAS  I had wondered how I was going to achieve this but I've seen a few cards and bags by Sam Calcott of Mixed up Craft that I liked and decided I would give one of them a try...so I made this.

Birthday

Image
I'm very late wtih this post and the truth is I only realised because I went to do another post. I got in a pickle and made two cards then I assumed that as I'd made one a while ago I'd already done my blog but clearly I haven't.   Anyway it's not too late for you guys to come and join us over at:   IAAS Here's my card:

Animals at Ikes World Challenges

Image
Over at  Ikes World Challenges  you can make anything as long as it has an animal there somewhere, so I've used this tortoise {because there aren't any snails 😭} to make a friend a card, addressed to mummy from her animals.  I dread to think how quick the men in white coats will arrive once she gets it!

Transport at IAAS

Image
It's a theme of transport over at  IAAS , it would be impossible for me to do a regular method of transport wouldn't it?  So because a friend likes Robins I decided I'd use this fabulous image from  Pink Ink  to make her a card. It's very basic but I hope it's the thought that counts.

Winged Creatures at International Art and Soul

Image
Welcome to winged creatures at  IAAS , this challenge is hosted by the wonderful Christine.  I like this challenge because it has endless possibilities.  I've used a stamp by Molly Harrison to create this birthday card.  As usual everything is coloured in Derwent pencils and the mushroom has nuvo clear drops on it.  I've accented with glitter too.  The happy birthday is a Britannia die cut from brusho papers.

Christmas in the Natural world ~ No Robins at International Art and Soul

Image
Hi and welcome to the first challenge of the year that I am hosting at IAAS .  Robins are popular at Christmas but I wanted to do something different...I thought about doing a Christmas card but as the idea progressed I knew I wanted to do a journal page and some stash I had for Christmas would help with that. I've used stamps from  Hobby Art  and dies from the Works to create this winter scene.  As usual I've written my own quote and it reads "Nature knows no bounds, Nature provides what it needs throughout the seasons.  We just need to see the beauty in what nature provides." Tic Tac Toe at Ikes World Challenges

Image
Welcome to February's challenge at  Ikes World  This months theme is Tic Tac Toe...ARGH there is ALWAYS things I never use or more often things I have NEVER heard of it.  I had this crazy idea for a journal page then tweeked it to fit the theme.   The Tic Tac Toe grid is: I've chosen to do Glitter, Flowers and Embossing.  I've used lots of glitter on the zombie animals and the flowers on the store clerk's jacket are embossed and cut out.  I've written the quote myself so the copyright is mine. It reads "Almost everything in life has sparkle and joy if you embrace it and allow it to be positive".  ⒸSall Baker

Off to Dinner at International Art and Soul

Image
Hi and welcome to off to dinner at  IAAS , the lovely Hazel has chosen this fortnight's theme although I suspect it was supposed to be slightly more romantic given that it's Valentines day but I never could stick to the obvious or easy route.  So I've used some Kingfisher and nature stamps from  Hobby Art  to make this journal page of a Kingfisher fishing along the canal.  I've used distress ink and brushos for the background and I've coloured the stamps with Derwent Procolour pencils and fussy cut them.  The quote is my own and copyright belongs to me. It reads "Nature knows how much it can take from itself without allowing egocentrism to drain it's resources." ⒸSall Baker 2021  I've used some glitter as the final touches although it hasn't shown up on my photo.

Hearts at International Art and Soul

Image
Welcome to a heart themed challenge at  IAAS .  This theme was chosen by the delectable Chriss.   I love altering or decorating these wooden hearts and confess that I am building quite a collection.  This time I've used the penguins from  Hobby Art .  The quote is my own and copyright goes to me.  It reads "We may be poles apart, we may feel the cold of loneliness but the warmth of friendship is never far away if you open your heart and let it in".

Friendship at Ikes World Challenges

Image
Welcome to a new year at  Ikes World Challenges . There is a great theme of Friendship this month and you can use your imagination in any way you like and have whatever take you like on the theme...which is why I love Ike's World so much, I can just literally relax and see where my brain synapses take me. I decided to look at the superficial and hidden depths of friendship and use images that don't necessarily fit societal norms of friendship.   The images I've used are CSI Geek, Skellie gossip and do your thing.  All images are available at  Ikes Art  .  The quote I have written myself and is thus copyright to me.  It reads "IF you look closely you will see that friends won't care what you look like, what you wear, what your interests are or let you make all the effort".  ⒸSall Baker

Winter at International Art and Soul

Image
Welcome to the Winter fortnight at  IAAS , the theme has been chosen by Crafty Girl and it's very open to interpretation which is great for me. I've chosen to do a double art journal page using polar bear stamps from  Hobby Art  .  The quote was written by me and the copyright is my own.  It reads " NO don't jump in the water!  Can't you keep these cubs under control? You could help you know; it's not my fault the entire world thought it a good idea to melt the polar ice caps and destroy their playground!"

Landscape at International Art and Soul

Image
Welcome to the first challenge of the year at  IAAS  The challenge theme has been picked by DT mate Tricia and it's a gorgeous theme.  I've chosen to use some scene it stamps by  Hobby Art  I've turned it in to a simple easel thank you card for a good friend who sent me the most wonderful Christmas Gifts.
