Embossed Ornament Card

Hello crafters! I hope your December is going well. This week I will show you 3 cards I made for Christmas.

This first card is so pretty irl – it is hard to get a good photo of it.

The embossed background is a gorgeous 3D embossing folder from Spellbinders called Holiday Floral Swag. It is a large folder – 8.5 x 5.5 – so it will cover a half sheet of cardstock. What I did was emboss the cardstock and cut it in two, so I was able to get two holiday cards from one folder.

The ornament is made using dies from Birch Press – this set of 3 coordinating dies is call Twinkle. I used a glittery blue cardstock along with gold and white to make the ornament and topped it off with silver cord bow. It is glittery and shiny and perfect for a holiday card!

Thanks for stopping by today. Check back on Wednesday for another card.

Clean and Simple Inspiration

Sometimes you see a card that you just have to copy!!  That was the cast when I saw this card from Chris Stokes – whose blog is called Simply One Of A Kind.  She does some fantastic work -especially if you love the clean and simple look.   Here is her card:

Here are a set of cards I did based on her beautiful creation.

I did not use the technique she used for the tags – she used flowers and leaves and squished them onto the paper to create the background for the tags.

I used distress inks to make these, and added some metallic inks for interest.  The butterfly die is from Birch Press designs.  The sentiment is from Papertrey.
