I guess to kick it off we should add a few pics of Miss Adia's arrival to the story. She joined our family on July 20 and was our gift from God from the start!

(the hat was from our midwife, Yvonne)
Pierce loved her right away but we did have some adjustment periods. Especially when we had guests Pierce would act out a bit to get attention. He settled in pretty quickly and now constantly asks to hold Adia and what she's doing and wants to help and check up on her.
Pierce to hold the baby
Needing some attention!
But he's determined to be wherever she is
"Cool" big bro
While Adia is a great baby she did (does) have colic. It's improved tremendously, but for the first few weeks she liked to scream from about 4pm-8pm. It was terribly sad and of course all of our guests would try to help. But we did figure out the worst her scream session was the better she slept at night. I think she just needed to get some exercise!
Angry colic baby
Chilling
We were very blessed to have lots of family and friends come to town to help out and meet the new arrival. It felt like we were always getting ready for some guest. Pierce is going to have to adjust to just the family around here once maternity leave is over.
Auntie auntie and uncle uncle stopped by.
Pierce picked up on how to work the "noise" (aka drill) pretty quick

Our first attempt at attending church. We got all dolled up, out the door and I spent the whole time trying to console an unhappy baby. After a few screaming melt downs we called it a day.

We also had a fun visit with Grandma Pati! We went to the children's museum, went on long walks and had a lot of fun playing at the house.

And of course snuggle time!
Next we had a visit from Gramby and Geezer. They showed up on the day our church small group hosted a "Meet the Baby Shower" for Miss Adia.

Clay and I also celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. In honor of our milestone we hosted a vow renewal celebration complete with wedding cake and a toast!
Our wedding goblets a recreation of our wedding cake. YUM!
We had many guests who joined the celebration!
My sweetie
Dad did the vow renewals. It was very special!
For our anniversary gift we had tickets to Phantom of the Opera. It was awesome! They've redone the production since I saw it last and it was really enjoyable. So during that time Gramby and Geez were Adia's first baby sitters!
But unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Gramby and Geez had to go home.
Ready to learn to drive
(P.S. Pierce can now identify Chevy Silverados...so funny)
Bye Bye Gramby and Geez
And of course we had some fun family time too...
We went to the Arbuckle Wilderness and fed the animals

And football season!

We enrolled Pierce in gymnastics class and a music class. He's had a lot of fun at both. Of course I only have pics of gymnastics. So much fun!!

Wow what a whirlwind maternity leave was. We were so blessed to get to spend so much time together as a family and to have so many people come to visit us and enjoy time with the kids. While I'm sad to go back to work and miss out on these fun days, I know the kiddos are in great hands with Clay. How blessed we are to have a stay at home parent!
