    MAME

    MAME

MAME is a multi-purpose emulation framework

...Over time, MAME (originally stood for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) absorbed the sister-project MESS (Multi Emulator Super System), so MAME now documents a wide variety of (mostly vintage) computers, video game consoles and calculators, in addition to the arcade video games that were its initial focus. The MAME project as a whole is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, 2 (GPL-2.0), since it contains code made available under multiple GPL-compatible licenses.

    Hivemind

    Hivemind

Decentralized deep learning in PyTorch. Built to train models

Hivemind is a PyTorch library for decentralized deep learning across the Internet. Its intended usage is training one large model on hundreds of computers from different universities, companies, and volunteers. Distributed training without a master node: Distributed Hash Table allows connecting computers in a decentralized network. Fault-tolerant backpropagation: forward and backward passes succeed even if some nodes are unresponsive or take too long to respond. Decentralized parameter averaging: iteratively aggregate updates from multiple workers without the need to synchronize across the entire network. ...

    Hyprspace

A Lightweight VPN Built on top of IPFS + Libp2p

A Lightweight VPN Built on top of IPFS & Libp2p. Libp2p is a networking library created by Protocol Labs that allows nodes to discover each other using a Distributed Hash Table. Paired with NAT hole punching this allows Hyprspace to create a direct encrypted tunnel between two nodes even if they're both behind firewalls. Moreover! Each node doesn't even need to know the other's ip address prior to starting up the connection. This makes Hyprspace perfect for devices that frequently migrate...

    PowerInfer

    PowerInfer

High-speed Large Language Model Serving for Local Deployment

PowerInfer is a high-performance inference engine designed to run large language models efficiently on personal computers equipped with consumer-grade GPUs. The project focuses on improving the performance of local AI inference by optimizing how neural network computations are distributed between CPU and GPU resources. Its architecture exploits the observation that only a subset of neurons in large models are frequently activated, allowing the system to preload frequently used neurons into GPU memory while processing less common activations on the CPU. ...

    Dat

Peer-to-peer sharing and live syncronization of files via command line

...At the scale of the web, every decision can have a massive impact on our political systems and social well-being. Dat is governed openly through a series of working groups. Dat is a protocol for sharing data between computers. Dat’s strengths are that data is hosted and distributed by many computers on the network, that it can work offline or with poor connectivity, that the original uploader can add or modify data while keeping a full history and that it can handle large amounts of data.

...If you need to grab something which does not require you to comprehend massive and complex API's, do exhaustive configurations and installations, is robust and reliable, uses just one port for all management and communication, then SlimGrid is the right choice. The SlimGrid is built on top of the Apache's ZooKeeper library for coordination of distributed systems and Apache Curator awesome API simplification. Slimgrid allows also one-way synchronization of grid application folders (from the server to workers). This is useful when the grid app has been updated. Slimgrid is very robust. One of his successful mission was to perform more than 140.000 tasks in the grid with 40+ computers located in three different countries (Norway, Germany, Canada) and behind various firewalls (University labs).

    Octree Method For Particles

simulation of particles using an oct-tree

...I realized that simulating a very large number of particles in e.g. electromagnetic sims can run into growing i/o demands. This is a way to overcome that hurdle. the low-level "octets" can be distributed among a cluster of computers, organized in a grid. they don't have to send each other their whole dataset - only a zoomed out image of it. the further away, the more zoomed out. thus, i/o traffic is greatly reduced. combine this with the fact that it's an O(N) algorithm, and what you get is an accurate particle-based physics simulator whose simulation speed scales with the number of particles per compute unit even for VERY large particle counts and VERY large computing arrays. ...
