This is an exercise in some advance programming topics using a text adventure as the central result. This originally began as a project to recreate an old BASIC text adventure, on the ZX Spectrum, using Z80. After developing a very simple byte code VM to handle the game interactions, I realised that there was an opportunity to use some more advance techniques, which in turn can lead to some PC based tools. -

This project is for the portable computer "Cambridge Z88", produced by Sir Clive Sinclair (of ZX Spectrum fame). CP/M Plus on ZX Spectrum +3 has ability to load device drivers from normal disk files (with .fid extension) on boot. A Spectranet device (apart from being networking interface) contains 128kB of extra RAM that can be accessed even with the Spectranet firmware disabled. This project proposes a FID driver that exposes Spectranet's extra memory as a ramdisk to the CP/M Plus system. -

Bolder Dash
A cross-platform «Boulder Dash»-like game in Oberon/Component Pascal
A goal of this project is not only produce a small funny game. It demonstates the power of Oberon technologies, shows how a game can be written to be launched under such different platforms. Portability is a strong feature of Oberons, and I use it, - Dash has portable game code (common for defferent platforms, written in Oberon-1) and non-portable layers to a hardware platform.
