The IrrlichtEngine is an open source high performance realtime 3D engine written and usable in C++. It is completely cross-platform, using D3D, OpenGL and its own software renderers.
...Lime is not a distinct "engine", it is a wrapper with almost the same architecture witch native IrrlichtEngine has. You do not need to download/compile IrrlichtEngine, wrapper already has it and ready to be used straight from the box.
