Open Source Python Data Visualization Software for Mac

The Simple Medical Imaging Library Interface (SMILI), pronounced 'smilie', is an open-source, light-weight and easy-to-use medical imaging viewer and library for all major operating systems. The main sMILX application features for viewing n-D images, vector images, DICOMs, anonymizing, shape analysis and models/surfaces with easy drag and drop functions. It also features a number of standard processing algorithms for smoothing, thresholding, masking etc. images and models, both with graphical user interfaces and/or via the command-line. The applications are all built out of a uniform user-interface framework that provides a very high level (Qt) interface to powerful image processing and scientific visualisation algorithms from the Insight Toolkit (ITK) and Visualisation Toolkit (VTK). The framework allows one to build stand-alone medical imaging applications quickly and easily.

SBEVSL is a collaborative project between Dowling and RIT on the development of a Structural Biology Extensible Visualization Scripting Language, so that users can move freely among various molecular graphics tools, such as rasmol, pymol, raster3d, etc.

The TRANSIMS Studio application is an integrated development environment for the TRansportation ANalysis and SIMulation System (TRANSIMS). Components include a run time environment to execute TRANSIMS in parallel, as well as a full featured GUI.

MatPy is a Python package for numerical linear algebra and plotting with a MatLab-like interface. It currently consists of wrappers around Numeric and Gnuplot packages, but eventually may be implemented directly in C/C++, or as interface to Octave.

Rocksnake takes localities from geological mapping projects and plots them in 2D, over an optional basemap. Each locality has all the standard geology notebook contents and photos attached to it which can then be viewed from Rocksnake.

This application allows you to graph your Basis data in several ways and allows you to easily move across dates, plot mulitple attributes simultaneously, and understand trends and answer questions. This application assumes you've already run the BasisRetriever application and downloaded your metrics in csv format.

Chartshare is a computer based system for the production, analysis, and distribution of Standard Celeration Charts (http://www.celeration.org).

GUESS, or the Graph Exploration System, is a system and language for visualizing and manipulating graph structures and creating new visualization applications.

Gnupylot is a GUI for gnuplot (the widely used multi-OS plotting utility). It's written in Python using PyQt4 libraries. With Gnupylot you can save your plots (even the datasets). It's still in Alpha stage.
