    eBPF based cloud-native load-balancer

loxilb is an open source cloud-native load-balancer based on GoLang/eBPF with the goal of achieving cross-compatibility across a wide range of on-prem, public-cloud or hybrid K8s environments. Kubernetes defines many service constructs like cluster-ip, node-port, load-balancer etc for pod-to-pod, pod-to-service, and service from outside communication. All these services are provided by load balancers/proxies operating at Layer4/Layer7.

    kube-vip

    kube-vip

Kubernetes Control Plane Virtual IP and Load-Balancer

kube-vip provides Kubernetes clusters with a virtual IP and load balancer for both the control plane (for building a highly-available cluster) and Kubernetes Services of type LoadBalancer without relying on any external hardware or software. ARP is a layer 2 protocol that is used to inform the network of the location of a new address. When a new IP address is configured to a device, there needs to be a mechanism to inform the network of which piece of hardware is hosting this new address. ...

Automatically set GOMAXPROCS to match Linux container CPU quota

...When GOMAXPROCS is increased above the CPU quota, we see P50 decrease slightly but see significant increases to P99. We also see that the total RPS handled also decreases. Data was measured from Uber's internal load balancer. We ran the load balancer with 200% CPU quota (i.e., 2 cores).

    Kong Ingress Controller Kubernetes (KIC)

    Kong Ingress Controller Kubernetes (KIC)

Kong for Kubernetes: The official Ingress Controller for Kubernetes

...Kong Ingress Controller takes Kubernetes resources such as Ingress and HTTPRoute and converts them into a valid Kong Gateway configuration. It enables you to use all the features of Kong Gateway. A Kubernetes ingress controller is an application that runs in a cluster and configures a load balancer based on Kubernetes resources (Ingress, HTTPRoute, TCPRoute, and more). Kong Ingress Controller configures Kong Gateway as a software load balancer that runs in the cluster and is typically exposed as a LoadBalancer service. Kong recommends using the Kong/ingress Helm chart to deploy the Kong Ingress Controller. This chart supports both DB-less and DB-backed deployments. ...

    HAProxy Ingress controller
Ingress controller implementation for HAProxy loadbalancer. HAProxy Ingress is a Kubernetes ingress controller: it configures a HAProxy instance to route incoming requests from an external network to the in-cluster applications. The routing configurations are built reading specs from the Kubernetes cluster. Updates made to the cluster are applied on the fly to the HAProxy instance.

    inlets-operator

    inlets-operator

Get public TCP LoadBalancers for local Kubernetes clusters

Get public TCP LoadBalancers for local Kubernetes clusters. When using a managed Kubernetes engine, you can expose a Service as a "LoadBalancer" and your cloud provider will provision a TCP cloud load balancer for you, and start routing traffic to the selected service inside your cluster. In other words, you get ingress to an otherwise internal service. The inlets-operator brings that same experience to your local Kubernetes cluster by provisioning a VM on the public cloud and running an inlets server process there. Within the cluster, it runs the inlets client as a Deployment, and once the two are connected, it updates the original service with the IP, just like a managed Kubernetes engine.

    Traefik Forward Auth

    Traefik Forward Auth

Forward authentication service. Google/OpenID oauth based login

A minimal forward authentication service that provides OAuth/SSO login and authentication for the traefik reverse proxy/load balancer. Traefik prepends the namespace to the name of middleware defined via a Kubernetes resource. This is handled automatically when referencing the middleware from another resource in the same namespace (so the namespace does not need to be prepended when referenced). However, the full name, including the namespace, must be used when referenced from static configuration.

    NGINX Ingress Controller

    NGINX Ingress Controller

    NGINX Ingress Controller for Kubernetes

ingress-nginx is an Ingress controller for Kubernetes using NGINX as a reverse proxy and load balancer. It is built around the Kubernetes Ingress resource, using a ConfigMap to store the NGINX configuration. The goal of this Ingress controller is the assembly of a configuration file (nginx.conf). The main implication of this requirement is the need to reload NGINX after any change in the configuration file. Though it is important to note that we don't reload Nginx on changes that impact only an upstream configuration (i.e Endpoints change when you deploy your app). ...

    ExternalDNS

    ExternalDNS

Configure external DNS servers (AWS Route53, Google CloudDNS and other

ExternalDNS synchronizes exposed Kubernetes Services and Ingresses with DNS providers. Inspired by Kubernetes DNS, Kubernetes' cluster-internal DNS server, ExternalDNS makes Kubernetes resources discoverable via public DNS servers. Like KubeDNS, it retrieves a list of resources (Services, Ingresses, etc.) from the Kubernetes API to determine the desired list of DNS records. Unlike KubeDNS, however, it's not a DNS server itself, but merely configures other DNS providers accordingly, e.g. AWS...

    GLBC

    GLBC

    Ingress controller for Google Cloud

GLBC is a GCE L7 load balancer controller that manages external loadbalancers configured through the Kubernetes Ingress API. Ingress exposes HTTP and HTTPS routes from outside the cluster to services within the cluster. Traffic routing is controlled by rules defined on the Ingress resource. An Ingress may be configured to give Services externally-reachable URLs, load balance traffic, terminate SSL / TLS, and offer name-based virtual hosting.
