Project V is a set of tools to help you build your own privacy network over internet. The core of Project V, named V2Ray, is responsible for network protocols and communications. It can work alone, as well as combine with other tools.

An open-source free cross-platform multi-protocol VPN program, as an academic project from University of Tsukuba, under the Apache License 2.0. The API Suite allows you to easily develop your original SoftEther VPN Server management application to control the VPN Server (e.g. creating users, adding Virtual Hubs, disconnecting a specified VPN sessions) from JavaScript, TypeScript, C# or other languages. Really, the paid-for services are just commercial honeypots. If an attacker can compromise a VPN provider, they can monitor a whole lot of sensitive data. Paid-for VPNs tend to be insecure: they share keys, their weak cryptography gives a false sense of security, and they require you to trust their operators. Even if you’re not doing anything wrong, you could be sharing the same endpoint with someone who is. In that case, your network traffic will be analyzed when law enforcement makes that seizure.

CacheGuard Gateway is a free and open-source Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution, a Web Application Firewall (WAF), and a Quality of Service (QoS) platform designed to optimize WAN traffic. To obtain a CacheGuard Gateway appliance, download CacheGuard-OS and install it on the bare-metal or virtual machine of your choice. It’s that simple and completely free. The UTM includes a firewall, web antivirus, VPN server, and a URL-filtering and SSL-inspection web proxy. The WAF operates in conjunction with a reverse proxy, web application load balancer, and SSL offloader, and is capable of blocking malicious requests as well as traffic from IP addresses with poor reputations. The QoS manager enables traffic shaping to prioritize critical network flows, load balance multiple WAN links, and cache web traffic.

Endian Firewall Community (EFW) is a "turn-key" linux security distribution that makes your system a full featured security appliance with Unified Threat Management (UTM) functionalities. The software has been designed for the best usability: very easy to install, use and manage and still greatly flexible. The feature suite includes stateful packet inspection firewall, application-level proxies for various protocols (HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP) with antivirus support, virus and spam-filtering for email traffic (POP and SMTP), content filtering of Web traffic and a "hassle free" VPN solution (based on both OpenVPN and IPsec).

This project focuses on bringing commercial quality L2TP support to Linux and possibly other Unixes. L2TP stands for Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol. It is a VPN similar to PPTP and a number of others. L2TP often competes with PPPoE.

Lomalarga is a port forwarding (VPN-like) service based on SSH & Linux. Based entirely on open source. The client is written in C# and the administration is based on Linux/lighttpd/PostgreSQL/PHP, with the UI written with Google Web Toolkit.

M0n0wall currently doesn't support IPSEC VPN where one or both ends are dynamic IP addresses. This PHP script along with the dynamic DNS service built into m0n0wall, auto-updates the remote gateway IP address in the VPN configuration.

SSL-Explorer is a fully-featured, web-based SSL VPN server. This project is no longer actively maintained as the SSL-Explorer technology has now been acquired by Barracuda Networks, Inc.

When the VPN crash this tool can send a mail, play a sound. - This tool work on Windows and Linux. - You need to install JAVA 1,8 on your operating system - Download checkvpn.zip and unzip it - Double click on checkvpn.jar - Click on the button « Update ip » when the VPN is stopped to get your public ip address. - Type the programs separated by semicolon that you would like to stop when the vpn is falling down (ex: utorrent.exe;firefox.exe on linux just put « firefox » no extension) - Click on start button and the program will check every x seconds your ip address, if it not the vpn's ip the programs will be stopped by this tool. - The option « auto start » start the process automaticaly. - The ip adress is geolocalized via MaxMind the web site http://check.vpn.free.fr
