Please send the logcat. If your android version > 4, download the latest beta version of Ghost Commander and save the logcat from the menu popped from the Preferences screen.

I just installed the 1.52 version from Fdroid, same thing here as well. No connecting message or delay, just the root. The SFTP plugin hasn't been updated on Fdriod, so I installed 1.52 from Play, but could not find the SFTp plugin there, found out it's not listed as compatible with my old Driod1.

I've lowed the minimum SDK version of the SFTP plugin to 5 (Eclair)
    Apk file to download

Having the apks synced up worked for me, I'm happily sftping again on 1.52 :) I wonder if the F-droid guys know to sync up plugins as well?

I was also using the app and plugins from Fdroid.
And after upgrading when trying to connect got only root directory of the
phone shown (but with the samba plugin).

Probably the plugins were build only with svn revision 390 and are therefore
not fitting to the current revisions of the main app.

For this I opened a new issue with Fdroid:
    https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/issues/28

FDroid issue at gitlab got closed now.

These current versions work as expected:
    gc 1.52.2, gc-smb 1.31.1 and gc-sftp 1.13.1

I think this bug report could be closed now.
