GQMessenger 0.01-beta available

This is the first public release of GQMessenger. It is currently a beta, and only supports OSCAR (AOL Instant Messenger). Currently, IRC and MSN are under development, and will appear in the 0.02-Beta release of GQMessenger. GQMessenger is an all-in-one client similiar to gaim and Trillian written in Java 1.4.2. GQM is also written as a library, which will eventually be packaged as separate JAR files to be included in other projects and applications. GQM also is being developed to support Java plugins so other developers can package plugins as JAR files to be included within GQM. Remember, this is a beta release of GQMessenger with more releases coming soon. Expect problems, and please report bugs to the bug tracker on our project page. We are also looking for some dedicated developers. Join us in #gqmessenger on irc.freenode.net.

GQMessenger is back!

Finally, after starting this project years ago, I have successfully re-written it in Java. Also, the project will be open sourced. Check back here within the next few days to access the CVS and try GQMessenger out. It is currently undergoing a major core/ui split, so a lot of the code is currently broken. 1.0-Beta will be released soon. I am also currently looking for some Java/Protocol developers to help get this project flying. Basic AIM,MSN, and IRC support is programmed, with a basic UI as well. All help would be appreciated!
