Attempts to use mina 2.x seem to cause intermittent deadlocks. Recommend sticking with mina 1.x

Think I've fixed the deadlock issues. For those looking for an updated version of this toolkit checkout my fork on github. v2.0 now uses updated mina/2.x and jdom/2.x
