Failed to read Block.(nread=0xffffffac)

I use Debian unstable, kernel kernel 2.6.8-1-k7 and
hotplug support. Packages mpio libmpio libmpio-dev
libusb-dev kmpio where installed from
http://www.le-seb.org/unofficial-debs/

a) I can start mpiosh or kmpio.

b) I get this error because I haven't connected the
device (obviously, but necessary for troubleshooting)
ERROR: Could not open /dev/usb/mpio
Verify that the mpio module is loaded and your MPIO is
connected and powered up.
could not find MPIO player.

c) When I connect the FL100 to the usb bus, I get this
message on /var/log/messages. It seems like the device
is connected (ok)

d) Then I type "open" in the mpiosh commandline and get
this error:

I think this problem may be related with some
libraries, byt I'm not sure, so I followed step #5 on
FAQ http://mpio.sourceforge.net/faq.html and I got this
