Hi, is this project still online?

I have been doing some trials with success, but now I was doing a final more Hard test, of an 100mx100m city square with drone images. I started the compute matches and after almost 48 hours i slike this. I see the process still running and RAM being used, but now I have those RED bars ... do they mean anything? SHould I wait? Thank you in advance.

I took a sample of the process in Activity Monitor.

Hi! Yes, this project is still alive, but I didn't update it for a while now. In your case, it seems you are using too many pictures to create a 3D model. Please start with 10-15, and then increase the number of picture slowly to get a feeling how long it takes. If I am not mistaken the time to compute the matches increases exponentially with the number of pictures.

Hi Romain, Thank You for your availability and prompt reply. I did a lot of tests before, and now was trying to compute a more detailed model, I tried Web ODM, and has given great results in a short amount of time. I will still give some try at Regard3D, I believe it has many potencials, and I have a feeling it was more accurate than Web ODM, but at the moment, my office asked me to do real work without testing more, and so far WebODM did a good job with bigger assets, and I believe the chance create cluster nodes.

      Thank You once again.

      Good morning

I have just downloaded your software after numerous attempts with other photogrammetry software.
I have several problems to solve, the first was that my photos did not have a camera in the image properties.
      I had an error.
I tried with other photos but the device was not in the database because it was too recent. Do you have a way to update the devices?

show triangulated points: error result file not found
unknow focal length: the focal length is known for too few pictures.
      triangulation will fail.
use pictures with know focal length taken with cameras stored in the database.

    Hi,

I've tried to compile OpenMVG on OpenSuse Tumbleweed, with the instructions Brenton Ross gave in his pdf. But, on 91%, make halts with an error.
Is there a place to get help with this? Brenton Ross would of course be a logical idea, but I can't find an email address for him.
I presume that compiling OpenMVG is necessary before one can successfully compile Regard3d

    Thanks in advance!

    regards, Jogchum Reitsma

Unfortunately, I don't have time to give you detailed support. Drop me an EMail (hiestandroman@gmail.com) with the error message, maybe I can spot the problem quickly. In general, compiling Regard3D is difficult, takes a lot of time and patience, and requires knowledge of C++ and CMake.

As a community we can work together and get your project well done. If you allow, it is all in your hands.

I trying to build this project . No help from the author. Atleast he should give some support to keep the project going .

I find this comment of yours disrespectful. I answered many of your EMails, giving you support. But I am not giving an introductory course of C++ and CMake to you for free.

        Dear Roman,
I respect you a lot. It is out of frustration. Lots of people suffering. Why not to improve the who process with better build process.

I see lots of developers suffering.

You gave the wonderful piece of software for use. But, when trying to build, it fails during build or after build. Why is that brother ?

If you allow me, i will write a tutorial for the community. Lets do one library a day.
We could finish and have better world. People will donate for sure your better and best work.

    Dear Roman & Regard3D lovers .

I am happy to share that. I am successfully build the Regard3D in Windows.
I will do share soon and we will make it community Build Project, If Roman is approving that.

    Please reply Roman.

Hi, just interested in whether there are instructions for using this on linux (Ubuntu 18 derived distro) to set it up. This looks very good photogrammetry software without the cloud dependence or exacting GPU requirements some have (this should run on any machine even if a lpatop if one is alright with it going slowly?), but I'm not sure where to begin to get it ready for linux. I guess I need to compile those cpp files, but am not sure what dependencies and such need sorting or any other such steps. Thanks

I was able to build it on my Ubuntu 20.04 devbox using Brenton Ross' instructions in PDF!
If you will ever read this, Brenton - it was of tremendous help!
Not all gone as expected though, after all had to add some debug output to make out some errors I was facing.
But after all it is now running and processing the first photo sets.

JakeM, do you experience any particular issues? Did you try Brenton Ross' instructions?

Also, feel free to reach me over EMail at konstantin@collabgear.com - will be happy to share my experience ( even though it is limited :) )

      Cheers.

RomanH, one question related to the CPU resources usage.
I have checked CPU usage and it looks like Regard3D only uses 1 core for all its processing tasks, at least on my PC.
Even if I start 2 instances of Regard3D they share a single core while all the others sit idle.
Is it expected behaviour or a misconfiguration I need to fix.

    Please advise.

    Thanks in advance!

    Konstantin.

"Local length is known too few pictures. Triangulation is failed. Use pictures with known local length taken with cameras stored in data base." - this is error message. I uploaded 36 pictures.
And I cannot insert the image to post, not working.
