HELP

  • To find your Local host IP (inside your LAN) :
Open command line (CMD), type ipconfig and look at IPv4 field.
In order to set a fixed IP address inside LAN: look at this site.

  • To find your IP (external) :
    visit this site.

  • If you can't connect from outside your LAN (external IP). Propably the port in which Shutdown Automaton is listening is blocked.
You have to set a new port in remote settings that is open
or port-forward the port number you selected, through your router settings, to make it accessible.
For help about port-forwarding look at http://portforward.com/.

  • If you do not own a static ip, your external ip will change from time to time. To have a standard static ip u can either :

    • use a dynamic DNS update tool such as http://www.dnsdynamic.org/ or http://www.noip.com/.
These tools give you a personal domain name and regularly update your ip with this domain name.
So instead of typing yourip:port you type yourdomainname:port which always remains the same.
Preferably choose tools that are free like the above in order not to pay any money.
(Except the above, there are many others you can find just google it).
    • or opt for a static ip from your internet service provider (usually they require an extra fee).
