#624 Setup printer / company info

Just downloaded TurboCASH 4.7.0 (Build838) whilst waitng for links to V5 and the printer setup menu is not showing any of the installed printers on my system. Most frustrating (as the only option which seems to be available is dot matrix)

Also in the company info section, the field for the company name is too small to enter both the name and the "trading as" - any suggestions?

    I have stopped sending out Version 5 - the only free option is TurboCASH 4.

    i) Printers are set in Windows not in TurboCASH

    ii) Use the Invoice message section to give yourself long names.

    At the risk of boring you - take up TurboCASH5 for $60 and these issues are far less. Only use TurboCASH 4 is you are not really going to do accounting. I was proud if it once, but things have moved on.

      Many thanks for your prompt reply and letting me know that the free 60 day
      trial for TurboCASH5 is no longer being sent out. As I mentioned when
      signing up for the trial, I was not sure whether I would get re-imbursed by
      the company for the business class version, so wanted to try it out and then
      do the hard sell as to why I "simply had to have it"!

      Regarding the printer issue, my printers are all set up in Windows, so can't
      understand why they are not showing in TurboCASH. I will have a look at the
      release notes as I am running Windows10 64 bit and the problem may be there.
      Please let me know?

      I can understand how things have moved on, but sometimes I get a bit
      nostalgic for the simplicity and ease of use of the old DOS versions which I
      was using way back in the 80's.

      I hope to be able to purchase V5 early next week, but have a stupid deadline
      on Monday (accounting from incomplete records as all the company data was
      lost) so will continue with my spreadsheet compilation and then create the
      new accounts in V5 when I have the time to attend to things properly.

    I have a reseller program fro those that want to resell TurboCASH 5. I keep the tow programs separate becuuse I do want to be able to suppy free software to those that need it. these kind of Windows problems is what we spend our efforts on fixing for TurboCASH5. The guys who just want kick tyres or check out Accounting don't need this kind of rigour.
