Content Rating: PG-13 +M. This is a Christian Romance, no sex. two hot kisses. Lots of trauma but a happy ending. There is a language warning: Chad’s debridement is painful, being a burn survivor is painful and the story is about also about sexual trafficking.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Chad and Sierra both have a nasty past. Chad, an Afghan vet, a suicide bomber destroys his family and who he really was. Sierra, broken on the inside by human trafficking. When Chad and Sierra meet in a burn center as Sierra is Chad’s nurse, they begin to connect to each other. Mainly Chad thinks Sierra is his deceased wife. As the story follows, there is a lot of drama, mainly Sierra’s past continues to haunt her. But the two seem to enjoy each other’s company despite the fact of their horrific past.
I’ll admit I had a rough time reading some of this book. J.F. Ridgley doesn’t shy away from the hard issues these two characters face with their difficult background. Though I couldn’t really connect with the characters because I haven’t dealt with these issues, I’m sure there are many who have been through what Sierra and Chad is going through in this story. If this story helps even one person, it’s worth it. My heart goes out to Sierra because she isn’t responsible for her past. Stolen as a child for human trafficking ruined her life. Be that as it may, Chad and Sierra were good for each other. It is a match made to help each other with the issues they are dealing with.
I think Ridgley does a fabulous job showing how these flawed character found redemption through knowing God’s love for them. And with His help, they will survive. This is a new author for me, and I look forward to what’s next. If you enjoy a fast pace drama filled thriller, you are sure to enjoy this one. I’m giving Mirrored Reflections Five Stars.
