5 Daily Writing Prompts including Fandango and the 3TC

Today’s post includes 5 daily writing prompts.

FOWC. The word is integrated.

The 3TC #MM181. The three words are plenty, shambles, and curse .

RDP. The word is mushroom.

The Daily Spur Challenge. The word is charm.

WOTD. The word is patrol.

**********

Archie had plenty of items spread out across the table and glanced at the spell book he was working from. His worktable was a shambles, and items were integrated for the curse he was working on.

He had to go outside to find a specific mushroom from his mushroom shed. The spell was to make him charming and more in charge while on patrol. His partner always ran the show, and he wanted to take charge himself.

“Hurry up Patsy. Kyle is already here and anxious to leave and we want some pictures,” her mother called up the stairs. She was anxiously waiting for Patsy to appear in the pretty pink shimmering gown they had bought for the prom. The dress fit her perfectly.

“I’m coming mom, hold on.”

Suddenly there was a sound of something hard hitting the steps. Nora ran upstairs to find Patsy sitting on the steps rubbing her ankle and crying. Nora tried to check out her ankle to see what the damage was. She would hate to have to call off the prom for Kyle and Patsy.

“What happened, dear?”

“I was hurrying and my heel caught on the dress’s hem. I knew it was too long. You should have hemmed it.”

Nora felt terrible. She hadn’t meant for this to happen, she just was out of time and cut corners hoping the dress really didn’t need to be hemmed. Obviously she was wrong and this was her fault. They would have to take her to the emergency room even though Patsy claimed she was alright. They couldn’t take a chance. Patsy reluctantly went with Kyle trailing along beside them in her parents’ car.

The doctor checked her ankle carefully to make sure she was ok. Nothing appeared broken or even sprained, so he released them with a clean bill of health and a hefty medical bill.

She hurried home to get her purse and the wrist corsage, and they took off in Kyle’s car once the pictures were taken. They were only a little bit late.

Weekend Coffee Share! 9/12/2025

To make up for my blunder the last few weeks I want to share some exquisite photogrpahs from Natalie. If you like nature, parks and water photos take a gamble through this link to Natalie’s blog. I love her photos and she lives in a beautiful area.

Thanks to Natalie, the Explorer, for hosting this prompt.

Grab a chair and something to drink. If you were here, I would tell you that I am becoming very much more frightened about where my health is going. I know I have a terminal illness, and they can’t tell me how much longer it is going to be before I kick the bucket, as the doctor puts it. I’m not sure if knowing would be better or not. By not knowing, there is still hope, but the symptoms are worsening, and I can’t ignore them. I sometimes wish that I knew how much time I have left, and other times I am glad that I don’t know.

I hope my glasses arrive soon. Still waiting for them. I can barely see clearly. Everything is bleary.

My feet are so swollen that wearing anything on them is very uncomfortable. I am getting another dosage of antibiotic and then will go on a reduced dose daily.

I am in constant pain and can’t breathe easily. The morphine isn’t helping the breathing as they hoped it would. Living like this is no fun.

They are changing my home health aide who helps bathe and dress me. I don’t like the change, but I don’t have a choice.

I am glad to see the heat going. We had a very hot summer.

Hope everyone is doing well.

After I played my trumpet solo, they clapped hands to show their appreciation. I was terrified and so glad it was over.

Not too long after that, I fell down on a bottle and smashed it into my hand, causing multiple cuts that needed treatment at the hospital. My hand became infected by the time we made it to the hospital. It all happened because someone asked me to hand them a bottle of beer, and it slipped out of my hand. You have to hand it to me, I do some of the craziest things.

The Weekly Smile for the 1st of September, 2025 #weeklysmile

Trents Rules

Hi All! I hope you are doing well and have plenty to smile about this week. For me, it is Cape Cod. Yes, I know, I have done it many times, but it still makes me smile, so it counts 🙂 I will talk about a few things I did to qualify that smile.

I went to the beach, took a medium-long walk and went “swimming.” OK, I waded in up to my chest, dove into an incoming wave (it was rough), did two quick strokes underwater and then came up and walked into shore. But it counts as swimming!

I did a run which takes me on the beach access road, so I can see sand and waves for about 2 1/2 miles (4 km). That run ended up being my fastest 10 km run since I started wearing my sports watch in February.

I did a nice kayak paddle.

I did a lot of walks.

I did some astrophotography but wasn’t very successful. No worries – it is the first time out in months, so it was nice to get back into practice.

I saw a play/musical “Come from Away.” Five cast members had done the show on Broadway, with two originating their parts, and all of the other cast members are known entities on Broadway and TV, so they did a great job.

There might be more, but that gives you an idea 🙂

So that was my smile for the week, spending some quality time on Cape Cod.

What made you smile?

****

Well my nurse has set up a morphine schedule so I will get it on a set time, but there is a problem at the moment so I have to wait until they straighten it out in the system. Good and Bad!

The Weekly Smile for the 25th of August, 2025 #weeklysmile

Trent’s Rules

Here is list of “rules” and guiding ideas.  If you don’t have time to read it right now, just remember that this is an exercise to spread positivity.  Don’t smile about the misfortune of others.  Don’t smile in a way to excludes others.  Make sure a 12 year old can read it.

To join in, write a post to share your smile and then leave a comment on this post with a link to your smile.  Or, if you prefer, do a pingback to this post (pingback = have a link from your post to this one) (Note – pingbacks have been very inconsistent – please leave a comment 🙂 ).   You can post any time until next Sunday evening (to be simple, I will say midnight GMT, which is 7 PM Sunday for me).  Note – I am no longer compiling the smiles into a weekly post as I used to – Sorry, I do not have time.

***********

My smile is that I am now back to writing all of my writing prompts.

Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge

Chaz and Carli entered the burgeoning coffee shop that was so full there were no empty tables to be found. They pushed their way through the ever-growing crowd that was rapidly filling the small room with customers on their afternoon break.

Chaz headed to the side window, where there was usually a seat since most people didn’t like to sit in the open window. Chaz and Carli loved that seat, and being on display didn’t bother them. They just wanted a seat.

Thankfully, the seat was open. They had a lot to talk about. They had just gotten engaged and were excited to discuss their wedding plans.  Chaz, unlike many young men, was eager to help plan the wedding.

They were planning a small wedding, and so this small chapel on Country Way was perfect for them. It would seat around 40 people. Twenty on each side of the aisle. They were planning mainly for family and a few friends.

It was a non-denominational faith, so their mixed denominations wouldn’t matter.

They were planning a 2-week honeymoon in the Bahamas. They would stay at the casino on Paradise Island. Chaz would go scuba diving most of the time, while Carli sunbathed and walked the island, and did water exercise classes in the pool. They were also looking forward to the nightlife. The food was supposed to be sensational.

Time flew, and as dinnertime approached, they got ready to leave so they could get ready for their fancy engagement dinner. They had invited 50 people, and 40 were coming.

They arrived an hour before dinner and made sure everything was ready to go. They had a sit-down meal, and they checked with the kitchen to make sure it was ready to go. The bar was set up in the corner and was well-stocked.

They each had one witness. They were keeping it small. The witnesses were the best friends of each of them. They arrived and sat at the main table for the four of them.

Everyone arrived on time, and the dinner started half an hour into the scheduled time. Chaz and Carli were happy as could be. Everything was going off without a hitch.

Everyone wanted to see Carli’s ring. It was beautiful.

The D.J. started, and the requests came in fast and furious. Everyone was happy with the music. The four hours passed, and everyone was sorry to see it end.

6 Daily Writing Prompts, including Fandango and The 3TC.

Today’s post includes 6 daily writing prompts and the weekly prompts weekend challenge.

FOWC. The word is adopt.

The 3TC #MM61. The three words are hooray, cheer, and chant.

RDP. The word is dilatory.

The Daily Spur Challenge. The word is style.

WOTD. The word is storm chaser.

My Vivid Blog daily challenge. The word is flourish.

**********

Larry adopted a loud cheer, chanting with the crowd, “Hooray. Here comes a tornado now.Carrie remained quiet despite the surrounding crowd chanting around her. Yelling wasn’t her style; she wondered why she even attended these storm-chasing rallies.

Carrie was dilatory in her movements, which could be dangerous when chasing a thunderstorm, but she loved watching them as closely as possible.

Larry watched Carrie’s style to ensure her safety. Storm chasing can be dangerous, and Carrie could be careless once a storm appeared. She got too close, and he constantly pulled her back behind him and out of the way.

I awoke with great confusion. I was thinking tomorrow was today and my gut gripped with fear as I thought my guest was coming today to exchange lessons on what we both excelled in.

That was the agreement that we had made. He would show me how to jump out of his small plane and I would show him how to ski. I was terrified to jump out of a plane. I wonder who would go first.
