The Little Blue Raven Studio

This fairy drawing is how I try to sculpt my fairy doll sculptures. To me the style looks quite different, but there is a huge size difference so that could be why (sculpture heads are 1″ high, this drawing head is 3″ high)

I will be painting this drawing with watercolors. I am very new to watercolors so we’ll how this goes!  Also cracked open my new (and first) block of Arches hot pressed 140lb watercolor paper. Been so scared to try it out and mess up so the paper block has sat on the shelf for ages!

Used watercolors and watercolor pencils.

I’m trying out a lightbox using 3 daylight florescent bulbs. Can’t seem to get it bright enough, but not too bad. My previous pictures are all taken outdoors in the shade.  Which ones look better? The indoor lightbox or the outdoor pictures?

Next I used a darker grey background in the lightbox, helped to brighten up the picture (thanks Joanna!). Now it is still slightly too bright, but about equal to the outdoor pictures.
