    Halloween’07

Ever had a sugar crash?? The one you get from eating too much candy. Yeah that was pretty much it. I was basically eating candy in the middle of the night while studying for my math test…  For a moment I was really glad. I have not eaten Kit-Kat, Sneakers, M&Ms, and other ❤ for a long long time. Just snuggling them down my throat was so satisfying yet there’s the guilt behind it. My family has never got into the practice of Halloween just because of the origins of it. As usual I was at home studying and answering the door bell for candy. The kids from my neighborhood were all dressed up in cute outfits but I was too busy giving out candies to take photos of them. Hallowed be thy name! Hallelujah!

Christian Halloween – The Pros and Cons?
Halloween has manipulated and “tricked” by the secular pagan world and much of what happens on Halloween is far from spiritual. In fact, some of the Halloween traditions have pagan origins.

The Bible doesn’t speak directly about Halloween, but some biblical principles apply. One things is clear — all pagan practices are to be avoided. Witchcraft, occult practices, sorcery, etc. are strictly forbidding in the Bible (Exodus 22:18; Acts 8:9-24; Acts 16, 19). It is obvious that a small child dressing up as a princess or a cowboy isn’t involving themselves with witchcraft, so what is a biblical stance on Halloween?

If you decide Halloween is something just for the fun of collecting candies, then make sure that you are kept far away from the evil aspects of Halloween. When believers participate in anything (even Halloween), their attitudes, dress, and behavior should glorify Christ (Philippians 1:27)

    Here’s some pictures:

    Sorting out the Candies (Good/Bad)

    The bad ones 😦

    Can’t decide??

    The supposedly good ones?

    Ewww… is that tootsie rolls!

So that was all the candy that was on the breakfast table. My brother weighed all of it (the good ones and the bad as well) and it came out to be around 4 pounds! Good luck with tooth decays :p

I really need God in my life

The title really sums it all… this week has been the MOST emotional week of my life. School work piles up all the way to heaven. If only God could finish or help me with my homework. As usual I had my fair share of tests and quizzes. I’m really upset by how things turned out this week. First was my anatomy test… I did not study for it because I thought it was the following day. Then there’s also GHP application and the interview which is next Monday. Even though there’s only eight of us representing the Social Studies Department, I feel that I am not on par with the other students. I’m the only Sophomore in the group and also probably the least knowledgeable. Why so you might ask… everyone is currently taking AP U.S History while I am only taking AP World History. There is also Jeffery in the team and he got a perfect score on his last SAT. Yes a 2400. Ryan is also in… he too made a perfect score on the ACT- 36/36. I have not taken the SAT or ACT yet but i’m pretty sure that I would not get a perfect score.

This year’s Social Studies stimulation for GHP (Governor’s Honors Program) runs parallel to the presidential debate. Here’s an example:

    1. Propose change in the US  Constitution to require a two-thirds majority to either authorize or declare war (by both house and Congress).

    2. Proposed bill in Congress that would repeal the No Child Left Behind Act and return all education power, regulations and rules to the state governments.

    3. A proposed amendment to the UN Charter that would empower the UN General Assembly and Security Council to impose a carbon tax on all member states of the UN in order to raise funds to begin combating global warming.

    4. A bill in the Georgia State Legislature that would eliminate all local property taxes and the state income tax and replace them with an appropriate state sales tax (eliminating the current exemptions for food and drugs) and use this tax as the means for financial support for all state and local services (such as education).

Well wish me luck for the interviews!

    Spirit Week

    Spirit week…

    Day 1- PJ Day!!!!

One thing I love about the American school system is that we have a lot of freedom. School is not that easy but we still have fun now and then. This whole week it’s all ’bout SPIRIT. Here’s a look at PJ Day… ohh did everyone get up on the wrong side of bed today??

^.^ Trying to doze off in Anatomy class when the teacher is not looking O.O

There seems to be only a few studious ppl today… I guess i’m not one of them (even though I nvr sleep in sch) I can understand why everyone is so tired. I slept at 3 am last night just to finish studying for my math n lit test. At any rate, this is not going to work out… freaking test and quizzes!!!! Every week there’s surely sth to do. blah.

P.S So sorry Suzanne… I accidentally deleted your picture :3 Your PJ outfit was cute and the bear as well
