Rather than read through this book and review it from my own, elderly, point of view, I decided to play it as a game with my husband, daughter, and son-in-law. We took turns judging each of the eight rounds, and despite the fact we are all adults, had a really good time.
Questions range from, “Would you rather have a snake loose in your house or a rat?” to “Would you rather eat only hay or wet leaves?”. Each round features 20 questions so you can choose whether to do them all each round or pick a few; we chose to do eight a round for the eight rounds. I used a piece of paper to mark down the winners for each round although you can do so in the book. But, I want to put it on my shelf to use with my grandkid(s) one day.
There are even tiebreakers for each round just in case, which we actually had to make use of a couple of times, including to determine the overall winner of the game (it was between my daughter and myself—she won).
This is a great way to spend a rainy or cold day (because kids and grownups should be outside if it’s nice out!) or to expend a little energy when the sun goes down. It’s certainly a good way to force kids (and adults) to use their intelligence and imagination. I imagine it would work well at birthday parties and the like too. And, if you plan ahead, you can have a little prize on hand to award the winner.
