It's Saturday, September 20th, 2025, I'm in Łódź and today I'm off to the Włocławek Rock Festival. Outside the sky is blue and there is a warmth in the air. I went out for a short "walk around the block" before breakfast. The streets of Łódź are very much in a grid layout in this … Continue reading Łódź, Włocławek, Łódź, Poznań, Łódź. Part 2.

Pagan tribal.
My mother bought me this this Circle of Friends candle holder for my birthday, many years ago now. When I picked up the package it was wrapped in, I heard a faint chinking sound which only served to pique my curiosity as to what could be inside. When I opened the package however, I found … Continue reading Pagan tribal.
By Jupiter.
Hard on the heels of Saturday morning's full Moon (January 3rd, 2026, at 10:03 UTC) Saturday evening brought a conjunction between the Moon and Jupiter. I know… I'm a sucker for these kinds of thing. The book's subtitle is "A House Martin love story" and it is an account of house martins and other "swallow … Continue reading Noisy guests of summer.
Spadger 2!
Further to the post "Spadger!", I've finally managed to get a photograph of the sparrow that visits us. I hope it's not just this lone sparrow but I've only ever seen the one of late so here's hoping that he tells his friends about our bird table and the delicious treats thereon. 🙂
Implicit imperfections.
When I went to bed last night, before I settled in I took a look out of the window, as I always do, and there hanging low in the sky was a lovely crescent moon. I don't know why but I felt compelled to photograph it, the Moon that is, so I fetched a camera … Continue reading Implicit imperfections.
…but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
Well, what do you know? On Saturday 30th March 2025 there was a partial solar eclipse visible from the part of England where I live, and it wasn't (very) cloudy!
