Earlier this week, Thomas Hall sat down with Brian Gray from Mérieux NutriSciences - North America and there are a lot of golden nuggets to be taken away. Data, data, data.... 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝘄. 𝗗𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 are EVERYWHERE!. 🤯 The gap which Brian discusses is: Can you turn it into something customers can actually use... especially when they’ve got multiple sites (and everything’s reported differently)? Most businesses don’t have a “data” problem. They’ve got a decision problem. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁? Another incredible addition to Avetix Bio - welcome Benjamin O'Keefe 🚀 When we talk about Avetix, we always say the people we hire are elite and Ben is a perfect example of that. This team genuinely is the highest concentration of top performers I’ve ever worked with. And I don’t say that lightly. Ben has built a strong niche across highly technical roles in neurology and is already very well known in the space. Massive addition to the team! Excited to have you onboard and hit the ground running 💥

Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐬! 🚨 If successful, this could mark the first non-opioid pain therapy for diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain in 20+ years 👏 That’s a huge potential step forward for patients who desperately need better options. The FDA has now given clear alignment for pilavapadin to move into Phase III ✅ The market reacted straight away, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘫𝘶𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘥 📈, but more importantly, this is real regulatory clarity in an area where progress has been painfully slow. On a personal note, massive credit to Mike Exton, PhD. Mike’s been a guest on The BioHub Podcast (links in the comments) and over the last couple of years he’s also become a mentor and a friend. This hasn’t been an easy ride, big changes since Mike stepped in, including a tough but necessary ~60% layoff (talking about it in the clip below). That takes real grit, and it makes this feel like 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 💪 Buzzing for the whole Lexicon team. Excited to see what comes next 🚀

Last week was a big one at Avetix, and not just because of #JPM 💜 We were delighted to welcome Amber Hayes MSc to Avetix Bio 🚀 Amber is a scientist-turned-recruiter and a proven top performer, with a deep niche across AI, ML, computational and the broader preclinical space. This is another huge addition to the Avetix Bio team. Honestly, one of the biggest wins over the last couple of years has been the calibre of people we’ve brought in and Amber is a great example of that. Plenty more to come… but for now, welcome to the team Amber 💥 So excited to be working together!

JPM day 1 complete! And this year, it feels different Over 150 meetings booked across the three of us this week. Relentless already… in the best way. I’m tired, but weirdly full of energy. Almost every conversation has some positive momentum behind it. Financings coming together, pipelines moving, and real progress after a tough couple of years. VCs feel more engaged again, selectively leaning back into risk, and the public markets feel a lot steadier than they have been. Avetix is primed for what’s coming. The product, the people, the platform. We’re ready for the increased volume 💜 I’ve got a seriously good feeling about this year!

Hello 2026 👋 The team’s back in, the energy’s high, and we’re straight into building on the momentum from last year. We’re also excited to welcome Harrison Coultas to Avetix. Having previously worked with Thomas Hall, this feels like a reunion as much as a new start. He’s already hit the ground running, and we’re buzzing to have him on board! And we’re not done yet, another exciting hire joins us on Monday, with more to follow as the year gets going 👀 New faces, familiar energy, and plenty ahead. Let’s go.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿. I recently sat down with Annika Sanderson to share my experience at Avetix- what we offer our clients, what makes our culture thrive, and how we have created a high-performance environment. I also get asked often by prospective and current clients: “What’s behind Avetix’s success and what makes you different?” So I wanted to answer those questions directly. 🎧 Have a listen below to get an inside view.

As the year winds down, it feels like a good moment to pause and look back on what’s been a huge year for Avetix. 𝐖𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐰, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲. Three promotions. Twelve new people added to the team, with five more already confirmed to kick off 2026. We opened our London office, laid the foundations for US expansion next year, launched a new website, refreshed the brand, and got our contracting arm up and running. 𝐖𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐨. Record-breaking quarters across the divisions, a record number of exclusive retained searches won, delivered multiple projects, countless conferences attended (and even hosted our first Avetix Bio executive dinner), and more podcasts recorded than we can keep count of. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲, 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. Company trips to Morecambe, Portugal and Dublin. Travel across San Fran, Boston, Las Vegas, Austin, Amsterdam, Vienna, Switzerland, San Diego, Nashville and Brussels. Six 1-year anniversaries, one 2-year, one 3-year. Antun Wilson got engaged. Max Brennan, MSc completed an Ironman. The team took on the Yorkshire Marathon Relay. Mathew Turek and Rebekah Deane both welcomed gorgeous girls to the world. None of this happens without the people. The energy, the standards, the support behind the scenes — that’s what made this year what it was. A massive thank you to our team, our clients, and our partners for being part of the journey. We’ll enjoy the break, then we go again. Merry Christmas from all of us at Avetix 🎄

This time of year always feels a little different. Things slow down just enough to take a breath, look back, and appreciate the year for what it was 🫶 I’ve been really lucky this year. From the pod, to the founders, to the VCs, to the wider network - being part of a community that genuinely values curiosity, collaboration and showing up for each other is something I don’t take for granted. There’s been a lot of energy, a lot of learning, and a lot of moments that reminded me why I love working in this space. Grateful for the people, the opportunities, and the momentum heading into the end of the year 🤍✨ Time to soak it in before the final sprint 🎄 AvetixCyber | Avetix
