In this short clip, our Global Head of Real Estate, Martin Towns, explains how local insight is vital to the retail sector – and the value that brings Manchester Arndale. It’s about scale beyond a single building, using learnings across shopping centres globally and building relationships with international brands from Asia to the UK, to make centres like Manchester Arndale the best they can be. We’ve hit the ground running at M&G this January, with great achievements across our business.   This week we launched the latest phase of our Reframing Retirement campaign, which challenges outdated perceptions of retirement, and we’re really excited about how it’ll evolve this year. Take a look at the fantastic work Anusha Mittal and the team delivered to launch the Social Market Foundation's proposal for a new pension health check – a tool that could be a real game changer for better retirement planning. https://lnkd.in/e_bHzSsG   We also recently introduced two new impact investment funds that reinforce our commitment to supporting UK growth, with more than £1 billion of planned investment over the next 3–5 years. It was great to have the support of HM Treasury and Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves as our Group CEO Andrea Rossi announced this important milestone, backed by strong media coverage. https://lnkd.in/eNQGYTa3   Alongside this, we’ve published our latest investment story film, helping UK savers see the real-world impact of their pension savings. It highlights our long-term retail investment in Manchester Arndale, with Martin Towns and Kate Russell, CFA offering a fascinating look at how the centre continues to evolve, its role in the local community, and its importance to the wider North West region. I always enjoy seeing our investments come to life in this way.   And to top it off, we launched our new global communications platform for 6,000 colleagues – a huge team achievement and a big step forward in how we share stories across M&G.   Great progress – well done, everyone!

We were pleased to see our Head of Technical at M&G, Les Cameron, appear in This Is Money discussing retirement planning tactics at each stage of life. This complements our Reframing Retirement campaign which aims to challenge outdated perceptions of retirement, and earlier this week we supported the Social Market Foundation’s proposal to integrate a new pension 'health check' directly into the upcoming Pensions Dashboard. This pension health check will give savers the chance to regularly review their own pension planning and contributions at key life moments, such as starting a new job.    Hear from Les as he shares a framework on how to achieve your savings goals at each stage of life. It reflects our belief that dedicated emerging market investments can generate strong financial returns while delivering meaningful impact for people and the planet. This is a significant milestone for responsAbility as we continue to mobilise private sector capital at scale for sustainable development in emerging markets.”   Find out more in the press release: https://lnkd.in/eSJSFwEA Part of our Asset Management business, and with more than $5.8bn in assets under management and investments spanning 70 countries, responsAbility continues to mobilise private sector capital at scale to drive sustainable development where it is needed most.

"Tailored guidance, given at the right time when people need it most..." As part of our Reframing Retirement campaign ambition to challenge outdated perceptions of retirement, Anusha Mittal, our Managing Director of Individual Life and Savings, took part in a roundtable hosted by the Social Market Foundation (SMF) to discuss their proposal to integrate a new pension 'health check' directly into the upcoming Pensions Dashboard. Anusha highlights that early engagement and early intervention could be transformational for retirement outcomes. As part of our Reframing Retirement campaign ambition to challenge outdated perceptions of retirement we are calling for a new pension 'health check' alongside the rollout of Pensions Dashboards. In the Social Market Foundation’s new report, it highlights that the health check would provide personalised guidance to help people meet their retirement goals and make smarter savings decisions throughout their working lives. New research commissioned by M&G shows that engagement is already high: nearly three‑quarters of full‑time workers check their pension each year, including more than half within the last six months. Yet government analysis continues to warn that, at current contribution levels, only 9% of working‑aged people will save enough for a comfortable retirement. The case for action is clear. People are paying attention, but too many lack the prompts to turn interest into action. This growing gap between awareness and outcomes highlights the need for stronger support to help savers make effective decisions. Working with the SMF, we’re exploring how developments such as the health check could turn information into action – and improve retirement outcomes. Find out more via the link in comments.
