Here’s Where Brad Pitt Apparently Stands With His And Angelina Jolie’s Six Kids

    After years of speculation about the state of Brad’s relationship with his six kids, 18-year-old Shiloh recently became the first of her siblings to request to drop “Pitt” from their last name.

    We’ve got new reports about the alleged state of Brad Pitt’s relationship with his and Angelina Jolie’s children.

    As I’m sure you know, Brad and Angelina share six children — Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, who will soon turn 16.

    It’s been widely speculated that Brad’s relationship with his kids has been strained by his and Angelina’s ongoing divorce and legal battle. The 2016 split was believed to have been triggered by an alleged incident involving the couple and their children on a private jet.

    Brad was accused of physically abusing their then-15-year-old son, Maddox, during a flight between Europe and the US. The incident — which allegedly occurred five days before Angelina filed for divorce in September 2016 — was investigated by child welfare officials. After denying all the allegations, Brad was cleared of any wrongdoing.


    In November 2016, the FBI closed the investigation. However, Angelina — who has indicated that she feared for her and her children’s safety during the marriage — tried to fight this ruling by filing an anonymous lawsuit against the FBI in 2022.

    While Angelina is often photographed on outings with the children and talks about them in interviews, it’s been a while since Brad has spoken publicly about his kids or been seen with any of them.

    In 2020, Brad gave a shoutout to his children while accepting his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He concluded his emotional speech by saying: “This is for my kids, who color everything I do. I adore you.”


    More recently, in 2022, he reacted to the news that Zahara would attend Spelman College while promoting Bullet Train. When a reporter highlighted his daughter’s milestone on the red carpet, Brad replied: “That’s beautiful.”

    And now, over a month after Shiloh marked her 18th birthday by filing a request to change her last name from “Jolie-Pitt” to “Jolie,” new reports claim that Brad is virtually estranged from most of his children.

    “He has virtually no contact with the adult kids,” an anonymous source told People magazine of the actor, who’s been in Europe shooting his upcoming Formula 1 movie, F1.


    All six children are legally adults, except for twins Knox and Vivienne, who will turn 16 on July 12. The insider said Brad “has visitation with the younger kids” per an agreement with Angelina. However, the source claimed that “his engagement” with them “is more limited in recent months because of his filming schedule.”

    Though Shiloh is the first of her siblings to request to change her last name legally, her sisters also appear to be distancing themselves from their dad, too.

    In 2023, a video showed that Zahara omitted Brad’s last name while introducing herself to a crowd as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during a ceremony at Spelman College. 


    More recently, People reported that Vivienne was credited simply as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for the Tony Award-winning musical The Outsiders, which she helped produce with Angelina.

    Brad — who was seen in the UK last week — has not publicly commented on the reports or his current relationship with his children. BuzzFeed has reached out to his representatives for comment.
