After Aubrey Plaza Was Confirmed To Be Having A Baby With Chris Abbott, She Addressed The News For The First Time

    The actor said she’s “always wanted” to be a mother.

    Aubrey Plaza broke her silence on her pregnancy.

    Last week, People reported that Aubrey, 41, is expecting her first child with her partner, Chris Abbott, 40. The two have kept their relationship under wraps, though they've previously worked together on multiple projects in the past, including the 2020 film Black Bear and the 2023 Off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.

    Aubrey was previously married to Jeff Baena, who died by suicide last January. They were reportedly separated for months before his death.

    In a new episode of the podcast SmartLess, as per Page Six, Aubrey broke the news to the hosts: "Well, there’s a baby inside of me."

    “Today was a big day. I went to the doctor’s today, and my dog also went to the doctor’s. And both of us — my dog’s getting a scan right now. I got a scan earlier. I’m not kidding,” she continued. "She had to get an ultrasound on her stomach. And then I got an ultrasound on my stomach, and there is a baby in there."

    When asked whether she's "excited" about motherhood, she replied, "I am. Yeah. I’ve always wanted...to see what that’s all about, you know?"

    “It just seems so interesting, that whole thing,” she added.
