How Our Lottery and Enrollment Works

Attendance Zone Residents (Tier 1):
Residents in our Tier 1 Attendance Zone who currently do not have any students attending John Rex may complete our Tier 1 Registration Form during the application window or our priority waitlist once the application window closes.

Lottery and Enrollment Information for non Tier 1 Families:

Lottery Application and Waitlist

All new students, including siblings of current students, must submit an online lottery application during the official application window (typically December through mid-February). Applications received by the deadline are included in the lottery. After the lottery closes, families may request to be added to our waitlist.

Priority Categories

While the lottery is random, certain priorities apply in accordance with authorizer and school policy, including:

  • Siblings of currently enrolled students

  • Students residing in the Tier 1 Attendance Boundary

  • Students residing in the Tier 2 (inside OKCPS) Boundary

  • Students residing in the Tier 3 (outside OKCPS) Boundary

Lottery & Results

The lottery is conducted on the published lottery date.

After the lottery:

  • Students are either offered a seat, or

  • Placed on a waitlist in lottery order

Results are communicated via email.

Enrollment

Students offered a seat must complete all required enrollment documents by the posted deadline to secure placement. Failure to complete enrollment on time may result in forfeiture of the seat.

Returning Students

Currently enrolled students must complete annual returning enrollment to secure their seat for the upcoming school year.
