  • Banner Health is honored to receive Masterson Place as a gift from the Natrona Collective Health Trust, ensuring the continued operation of this long-standing hospitality home in Casper. For more than 25 years, Masterson Place has provided affordable, comfortable lodging for patients and families traveling to Casper for medical care, helping ease the emotional and financial burden that often comes with receiving care far from home. Located just behind Banner Wyoming Medical Center, the 14-room facility offers a welcoming space for short- and long-term stays, allowing families to remain close during treatment, recovery and healing. We’re grateful to the Natrona Collective Health Trust, the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation and the community members whose vision and generosity have sustained Masterson Place for decades. This gift helps ensure its mission continues for years to come. Learn more: https://bit.ly/49ZcIti #PatientCare #Healthcare #Wellness

  • When advanced technology meets thoughtful, patient-centered care, lives can change. In a recent ABC15 feature, Dr. Pelagia Kouloumberis is highlighted for her role in helping a Mesa grandmother reclaim her mobility, independence and ability to care for her family after months of debilitating back pain. After conservative treatments failed, Dr. Kouloumberis took a personalized approach, ordering bone density testing to ensure long-term spinal stability and using advanced imaging to precisely plan a robotic spinal fusion tailored to the patient’s anatomy. That level of precision supported a faster recovery and less postoperative pain, allowing the patient to return to work and daily life far sooner than traditional surgery might allow. Today, her patient is pain-free and back to doing the things that matter most—proof of what’s possible when expertise, technology and compassion come together. • In a recent NeurologyLive interview, Jessica Langbaum, PhD, senior director at the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, shared insights from ancillary analyses of the U.S. POINTER Study—a large, nationwide clinical trial exploring whether multidomain lifestyle interventions can help protect cognition in older adults at increased risk for cognitive decline. The findings suggest that structured lifestyle interventions may offer benefits across diverse participant groups, with modest improvements seen in areas such as sleep and neurovascular health. Dr. Langbaum also emphasized that successful trial enrollment begins with transparency, trust and partnership, ensuring participants clearly understand the process and potential outcomes from the start. Her discussion highlights both the scientific promise of lifestyle-based interventions and the importance of making clinical research more accessible, scalable and inclusive.
