Last Tuesday evening we welcomed the Creative Play team to our awe inspiring Bellbird showroom for an evening together exploring ideas and possibilities. Our showroom is not a traditional shop where you walk down aisles and browse resources. It is a space designed to inspire educators. Resources are thoughtfully selected and placed together to create playful learning environments. You can discover what is new, see familiar materials used in new ways, and walk away feeling reenergised and full of ideas for your own setting. We host small group evening visits for teams who want to spend time exploring, talking and being inspired together. The beauty of open ended resources? Every educator sees a different possibility. Last week we welcomed a wonderful group who spent time exploring our resources and how they support learning through play. One of them shared that her favourite was our Wooden Treasures Coloured Set, a reminder of just how much potential lives inside simple, open ended materials. It inspired us to build on that idea and share an Easter activity called Pattern Eggs. By arranging colours, shapes and textures, children design their own Easter eggs while exploring early maths concepts, sorting and fine motor skills through hands on play. It’s a lovely example of how open ended resources can support creativity, curiosity and meaningful learning in so many different ways. With less than a month until Easter, our Easter Bunnies are fuelling up on carrots and hot cross buns. 🐰🥕 These sweet little hot cross buns are a simple and playful way to bring together craft and imaginative role play. You can sing the traditional Hot Cross Buns song together, or even teach children to play it on the xylophone. Celebrating familiar traditions like this helps children connect with the cultures and celebrations around them, something the EYLF encourages as part of building a sense of identity and belonging. Our buns were made using our bio seed pots and a white POSCA pen. This week, instead of using our Den Frame with a cover to create a dark sensory space, we opened it right up. As we celebrate Clean Up Australia Day, we are inviting children into meaningful conversations about recycling, sustainability and caring for our environment through our Great Southern Reef playspace. Inspired by The Great Southern Reef book by Paul Venzo and Prue Francis, this immersive ocean themed environment encourages children to explore the wonders beneath the waves. Through play, they discover marine life while building an early understanding of sustainability and their role in protecting our coastal ecosystems. Today we say goodbye to a wonderful colleague and true friend. Jaclyn Gaspar-Smith has been an instrumental part of our Sales and Customer Solutions team. Her guidance, knowledge and steady professionalism have shaped not only our work, but the way we work together. She brings thoughtfulness, clarity and genuine care to everything she does and that leaves a lasting impact. While we will deeply miss her presence each day, we are so grateful for the time, talent and heart she has shared with us. The contribution she has made to our team will continue to be felt long after today. Jac, we wish you every success in this next chapter. For us, sustainability is not a trend. It is a responsibility, and one of the core beliefs that shapes everything we do. We know early learning services are committed to nurturing environmentally responsible citizens, but creating meaningful sustainability experiences takes time and intention.
