Throwback to our #TGIFHacks Workshop on “How to Get an Internship and Job at Big Tech”, held in February 2025! The session was led by Toh Jing Hua, a Year 4 Business and Computing student at NTU who successfully interned at Google and secured a full-time offer. She walked us through the application process, interview preparation, and how to position yourself as a strong candidate for tech roles at leading companies. She also shared strategies for both technical and behavioural interviews, along with tailored advice for Y1–Y3 students on building their profiles early. The interactive Q&A session was especially well-received, with students asking thoughtful questions about career preparation and internship applications. A huge thank you to our organizing team for putting together such a valuable session, and to all the participants who joined us and made the evening engaging and lively. The lessons from this workshop will remain just as relevant for anyone looking to break into Big Tech.

Throwback to our #TGIFHacks Workshop on “Build Your Own Chatbot”, held in November 2024! In this workshop, participants were introduced to the essential tools for building an intelligent chatbot using LangChain and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), widely used to create chatbots capable of retrieving and interacting with custom data. The workshop guided students through data tokenization, data indexing, vector storage in ChromaDB, and integration with an LLM such as Groq to generate responses based on the data. The 2-hour session was highly interactive, with our speaker and NTUOSS members walking participants step-by-step through the setup and development process. The Q&A segment was especially lively, as students clarified technical concepts and discussed real-world applications of chatbot technology. A huge thank you to our organizing team for preparing such an impactful session, and to all the participants who made the workshop energetic and engaging. Workshops like this continue to highlight the accessibility and importance of AI development — and we’re thrilled to see the future being built with these tools!
