  • ⚠️ Important notice for Omnipod 5 users: Please share so all Omnipod 5 users can check their pods. 🙏 Insulet has initiated a voluntary medical device correction for certain Omnipod 5 pod lots distributed in the U.S. Affected pods may have a small tear in internal tubing, which can cause insulin to leak inside the pod rather than being delivered into the body. This can lead to high blood glucose levels and, in severe cases, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Insulet has received 18 reports of serious adverse events, including hospitalizations. No deaths have been reported. This does NOT affect CGM systems or readings. If you use Omnipod 5, check your lot number and access FAQs here 👇 https://lnkd.in/en5MAE4k. Questions? Contact Insulet product support (now available 24/7) at 1-800-641-2049.

Today, I’m proud to share that MiniMed is now a standalone, public company. What hasn’t changed is why we’re here. For more than 40 years, our Mission has been to make every day a better day for people with diabetes. I want to thank those around the world who choose us to support your journey and our clinician partners who work alongside us to advance the innovations that help make their lives easier. Your belief in us over the past four decades empowered us to reach this historic milestone. This means we won’t get comfortable. We’ll listen closely, move with urgency, and keep raising the bar on reliability, simplicity, and outcomes so that you have confidence and freedom in your day. We’ll make long-term decisions, even when they’re harder in the short term, because earning and keeping your trust matters more than anything else. Trust is something we have to earn every day, and we intend to do exactly that. I’m very proud of our MiniMed team, nearly 8,000 strong around the world who work tirelessly every day to serve the diabetes community with commitment and heart. ATTN: Students with diabetes! The MannKind/Al Mann Centennial Scholarship is NOW OPEN! If you qualify for this scholarship, we encourage you to apply here: https://hubs.li/Q03ZRqFx0 This program will support young adults living with diabetes with a $10,000 scholarship distributed to 10 students ages 18-22, studying life sciences at a community college or university in the United States. Wondering who Al Mann is? Wonder no more! He was an American physicist, inventor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist known for founding 17 companies and developing numerous groundbreaking medical and aerospace technologies, including the first rechargeable pacemaker and the insulin pump. Mann founded the company MannKind Corporation, which developed Afrezza, a rapid‑acting inhaled insulin for adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Mann’s vision was to offer an alternative to multiple daily insulin injections, making life easier for people with diabetes by using a non‑injection option. To honor his legacy, this scholarship seeks to empower young adults with diabetes to pursue their dreams in the life sciences. Thank you to MannKind Corporation for their continued support of the young adult diabetes community.

Over the 30+ years I've lived with diabetes, diabetes has only become more and more visible. Compared to my childhood where someone might sporadically see me finger sticking to check my blood sugar or injecting insulin, wearable medical tech, like insulin pumps and CGMs, has made it much easier to spot (and hear!) fellow PWDs out "in the wild." But there is a huge part of diabetes that remains invisible: the mental load. The mental gymnastics and arithmetic that we go through dozens of times a day, trying to balance all 42 factors that affect BGs against the handful of options we have at our disposal (none of which work quite the way we need). Trying to find just the right response to keep our blood sugar management from completely spiraling. Sometimes it feels like a shaking a Magic 8 Ball where the only options are "lucky guess" and "try again next time." It's A-freaking-LOT. Which is why I am so excited to announce our final slate of faculty, for The Diabetes and Mental Health Conference's keynote panel on the mental load of diabetes. Aaron Kowalski Manuel Hernández Laura Syron Beth L Braun, Ph.D. These folks *know* a thing or two about mental load. Not only are they handling diabetes, but they also have demanding, high-profile careers. They balance their personal and professional lives while also managing the responsibilities of diabetes, and have been doing so for *years*. I'm so excited to learn more about how they manage the demands of diabetes with the demands of life, handle diabetes burnout, overcome insecurities and anxieties, and how they stay hopeful for the future. Attendees also have the opportunity to submit their own questions for this interactive panel. As always, everything at the D+MH conference is virtual and recorded, so you can attend from anywhere in the world and if you have to miss the panel live, you'll have a chance to watch the recording. Early bird tickets are on sale through Sunday, so don't miss out! Grab them here: https://lnkd.in/gyZMt9dq

The new Omnipod Customer Experience Center is open! Located in our San Diego office, the Center is more than a space to train new users, support families, and host clinical partners. It’s a welcoming, family-friendly introduction to the Omnipod experience that reflects Insulet’s commitment to thoughtful design, community, and support. “The space feels exceptionally supportive,” said Cameron L., Senior Manager, Facilities. “We worked closely with the architects and the designers to make sure we included warm materials and personal touches to reduce the intimidating nature of most clinical environments.” #TeamInsulet
